Default New to MCN and want to say Hi!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to say hello to all the lovely people who give great advice in this forum (been reading this forum for AGES but never bothered registering coz I was in my research-ie phase).

Having my first bub in less than a month (a little girl) and deciding to use cloth (much to the disgust of my colleagues and family!) but I am determined to show them how great it can be.

Why have I decided to use cloth? One I cannot stand rubbish and landfill and I wanted to do something that was not so wasteful... Two, MCNs look so cute! And Three.... well coz nobody I know uses them and I just want to be a bit different.

I've been a bit disappointed with the negativity I get at work and from relatives (though DH is warming to the idea so I think I'll make sure it's as painless for him as possible). That's why i have such a great time reading and posting in forums like here and other pregnancy sites so I don't feel like i'm some kind of weirdo!

One question I find difficult to get an answer to is what MCN to use on a newborn? not big on flats and dunno if DH will be keen for prefolds so I want him to be able to warm to them straight away.

I'm sure if I read some more I'll get some ideas... but I just wanted to say hi to everyone.

Hi and welcome to NC. If you don't like flats or prefolds for newborns, then you could try fitteds with a cover are they are just as good.

Good luck with your upcoming birth, you would be due around the same time as I am.
