Default Converted Cloth Mummy

Hello,
Well, I am already addicted to the world of cloth nappies!
I am using the old fashioned fold your own at the moment while I am waiting for the start of my 'stash' to arrive.
I have purchased the following:
Baby Beehinds Trial Pack:
1 x Bamboo Fitted
1 x Hemp Fitted
1 x Wool Cover
1 x Pul Cover
1 x All In one
Some boosters and other bits

And a Nuture Nappy Stash:

1 x Tots Bots Bamboozle Sz 2
1 x Bumgenius One Size
1 x Baby Greens Growing Greens
1 x Itti bitti d'lish
1 x thirsties PUL cover

I am Hanging out for all to arrive!!!
Can anyone provide any feedback on these nappys? I have been told Tots Bots are the best but that Tots Bots covers arent so good? I like the sound of them being slimmer.
I am also thinking of buying a mesh bag to put in the nappy bin, which you can then just put straight in the washing machine. Does anyone else use one of these? Waste of time or handy??
I also have some Eenees flushable liners. I am hoping that with these I might be able to delay getting a little squirt?

I have spent so many hours on the internet looking at all the MCN options. So exciting....
Hope to here from some of you with some advise for a 1st timer.
My little boy is 5 months old.
Bye
Amy

Hi Amy & welcome to Nappycino

I have had Baby Beehinds in my stash since day 1 & they are great. We only have bamboo ones now because the hemp ones won't hold a huge toddler wee but the hemp is trimmer than the bamboo though. I haven't tried the Magicall AIOs.

From the nappies you have bought from Nurture Nappies, the only 1 I have tried is the Itti Bitti D'lish & these are fab!! They are my fave nappy atm

Great start Amy! welcome!

it's good you have some of each of the different styles
it's important to try them, to work out what suits you, for different circumstances
e/g we use fitted and covers at home, and pockets for outings.

you have some fitteds, your flats and covers
you have at least one pocket (the bum genius)
you have at least one AIO (the itti bitti d'lish)

i used the older style tots bots PUL covers last year with my nb and i liked them - great weight range. the newer style now available is improved as it has leg gussets, these covers with the leg gussets are especially good for using with prefolds.

i had a Little Squirt installed whilst still pregnant - i totally heart the little squirt, still loveing it at the 14 month mark. That a and a reliable washing machine!

have you got a Snappi to do up the Bamboozle?

i would add a dedicated night nappy, a wetbag for going out, some cloth wipes for change time, half a metre of Little Additions microfleece from Spotlight (to cut up into heaps of nappy liners for your flats and fitted MCN) and some nonpetroleum based nappy rash balm e.g Simmons PawPaw salve or Natures Cradle Hemp bottom balm. Rash happens sooner or later, and if you have the right stuff sitting there in the drawer, you're less likely to buy the chemist stuff (petroleum based ones that don't agree with the nappies).

it is exciting to research, and exciting to try it all out. so many more questions only come to you, WHEN it's real and you are using it on your bub.

make sure you understand the care intructions too.

enjoy! and welcome Amy!

Welcome Amy!

You have a great range of nappies there....I've got tots bot, BBB's, itti d'lish (which I am loving ATM), 10 pul covers from BBH and some magicalls from there which are great quick drying AIO's.

You'll only get more addicted here!!!

Hi Everyone,
Thanks so much for your information. I also purchased some more Tots Bots stuff including a couple of covers from Lee at Fluffy Bums (love a sale) so will have lots to try.
Will get myself some fleece for liners and I am already using a natural nappy cream so thats good.
Im sure I will have lots of questions soon......
Thanks,
Amy
