Hi all
,I thought it was about time I introduced myself... I'm a mum of 2 beautiful girls, Emelia (3.25 years) and Ebony (11mths). I've been using disposables since the beginning of my motherhood ... and after some coaxing from a dear friend (Hi, Fel!!) and a lot of research, and even more lurking on these forums, I am ALMOST ready to convert to the cloth!! (Sound like I'm thinking about becoming a nun or something!!) Back to the point though, I still have LOTS of ?'s, and need a bit more encouragement from all you inspiring WAHM's!! And I really mean that, you lot ARE really inspiring, I've come a long way within myself reading all your posts! A short time ago there was absolutely NO WAY that I would even CONSIDER washing poo off a cloth nappy, and I'm one of these people that believe nothing's really clean unless it's been doused with chemicals (I know, I know, I'm sorry... I'm coming around, slowly!! ) But seriously, can an ENJO glove clean grease off the rangehood with just a bit of cold water???? oops, I'm getting sidetracked...again!! After reading most of the threads on this whole site, I think I'm ready to go for pockets, for convenience reasons and the fact that it'd be easier to get DH to use them because they seem to be as easy as disposables! I just have to be pushed that little bit further over the line that separates the world of nappy changing mamas (and papa's, lets be 100% PC here!!) And yes, as you can all probably tell, I DO tend to talk too much sometimes... !! So I'll definitely be seeing you all around, Say hi to me if you see me and I'd also appreciate some tips on converting a reluctant DH!!! Thanks for listening...

Welcome!!
i'm sure you 'll enjoy yourself here, you know, i think cloth is FAR easier than disposables simply because they're so much nicer to use, much softer on the bum and you don't have to be running to the store all the time when they run out. Pockets are great, there are awesome WAHMs here who make some terrific pockets, as I"m sure you'll discover. When you've got your first quality cloth nappies in your hands you will understand why they are sooo much better than disposables!!

once you go cloth youll be kicking yourself you didnt do it from the start! I lurve pockets - as easy to put on as disposables and wayyyy cuter, not to mention better for bubs, the environment and your purse [that is if you dont become addicted, lol] Best thing to do is buy one or two to try and let DH have a go too. That way Im sure youll both be convinced without risking too much
if you didnt like them, simply sell them - theres always good resale value here or eBay (but you wont need to sell im sure) Just Do It! ![]() And I second the GreenKids - just got my 1st one and love it. Last edited by Peach_Bums_Mum; 21-05-2006 at 12:35 AM. |

Come on in the bamboo's really soft!!!
Join the growing move to cloth... You'll be fine. We all are... right? ![]() seriously tho, there are some about who've nappied several babes in cloth, some who are just starting out, and others like yourself who are perched on the edge of the leap into nappy nutterdom - take the (not so hard!) plunge - and in a few months you'll be replying and answering and just as addicted as the rest of us, and maybe even with a DH like mine (and other's) who happily chat Modern Cloth to anyone who asks ![]() welcome

Welcome to NC!
Pockets are great! I have a nice selection of them for my bub! They are our most used nappies (due to their drying time and convenience!) So ask away, we're an accomadating bunch when it comes to cloth bums!!!

welcome and congratulations on being almost ready for cloth - in a few months you'll wonder why you didn't use cloth from the start - its so easy
I was a bit skeptical about not using napisan etc for dd's nappies as we did the soaking thing with my son, but I have a giant tub of napisan sitting unsed in my laundry cupboard that has been there for a year now gathering dust lol. You will be amazed the first time you watch a stain disappear in the sunlight!Pockets are great, easy to use and you can adjust the absorbancy to suit your bubs. Ask as many questions as you need too - everyone here is super friendly
