Default Hi in Newcastle

Hi all, I think I've met a couple of people from another forum. I'm Anne, mum to Connor 6 and Alexander 4 with our new little one due in January. I'm just building up my new nappy stash for our new bundle having given away most of my old homemade cloth. It's amazing to see how much modern cloth has changed over the last 7 years. Just had a baby beehinds party today to decide between bamboo or hemp or wait for the new bamboo/cotton. I love them so much. Even my husband didn't freak out at how much I want to spend realising the cost savings over the next 3ish years.
I can't wait to learn so much more and I have so many questions already. I don't know exactly where to post my first question.
What would you suggest for that first meconium poop? would you use a disposable liner, or a cloth liner? a bamboo or a hemp. It took forever to wash out the mec stain out in the cloth for Connor so when I had Alexander I decided on disposable for the first day and I don't want to do that again. I knew it was clean but it somehow just didn't seem right to put on a stained nappy.

Hi Anne

I haven't had a newborn in cloth, but I'm sure I've seen on the forum about it..... just search meconium and see what threads you find.
Here's one http://www.nappycino.com.au/forum/showthread.php?t=4876&highlight=meconium
HTH! And Welcome to NC!

welcome!!!
my hospital dealt with all my meconium poos (yeaaaH) in their cloth nappies!!! maybe some fleece liners then they won't be so hard to throw away if you really can't deal with the stain.

how much fun was your baby beehinds party???DROOL

Hi Anne, firstly a HUGE congratulations! I did hear that you were pregnant a couple of weeks ago from Karena I think, but i haven't been on NP for ages, so not yet congratulated you - so yippee!

Have fun here - you will be a full blown nappy addict in no time, and it would be great to catch up soon

Hi and welcome Anne!

I'm another Newcastle clothie

I'm also having a BB party next week so feel free to come along and meet the rest of us.

I used BB, Motherease, BubbaJ all on my newborn. I found that in the sun the stains disappeared (I was amazed). I have a stack of Eenee flushable liners here which I've never needed to use as the stains just bleach out in the sun.

Look forward to meeting you.
