Congratulations on your baby girl!

Or leave the fleece layer off altogether as you are apparently changing regularly and having no nappy rash problems using chux wipes as a liner (which isn't a stay dry liner). Quote:
All the best

Thanks for your congrats. Hi Aviva In response to the above, yes - it is Malden Mills Microfleece. JamTots have a fleece topped organic hemp booster which I was going to buy but then figured it was a hec cheaper for me to buy all the fabric and make them! The Malden Mills Fleece is 180gsm not the thicker type for example that the swaddlebees fleece wraps come in that I purchased a while ago also. I think that the weight of the MM Fleece will be fine as a booster (contoured) - overkill or not :-) Just a comment on the flannel fluffies, I think that provided I can get the mix of booster sorted Morgans toosh will be in them more as they are a trimmer fit for her petite toosh (teamed up with a swaddlebees cover or bummis cover). I may give the fluffies pilchers another go once I have made the boosters but otherwise think they still will be good doll pillows .Gotta run, take care Lolla |

Hi All,
Hope you are all well. It's been a long time between posts, however I have been keeping up on what's been going on round here in parts - time permitting *lol*.... and we now have #2 on the way due 1st week August 08! Ok - just to update, in the end I purchased microfibre towelling, microfleece and french terry hemp fabric. I ended up making pockets nappies out of the existing ffies. A bit of work but that was the best option in the end of making the best out of what was gifted to me. Pocket inserts: x3 layers microfibre towelling (contoured shape) + x3 layers hemp terry (rectangle centre strip) + 1 layer microfleece (this was put at the back of the nappy - contoured shape) Insert was snappied to the back of the inside of the nappy. With the different fabrics I overlocked the microfibre layers together separate from the layers of hemp terry and then just sewed a cm or 2 dart across the top to hold them all together instead of sewing them as one chunk. I found that by not sewing all 7 layers completely together into one insert helped with drying time as the air was able to circulate as such between the layers and the most that had to dry was 3. Gosh, I hope that makes sense *lol*... Other pocket inserts I made were 6 layers of microfibre towelling + 1 layer microfleece as well as the microfleece liner (ran out of hempterry *lol*) and same concept above about sewing them together. Liner used: x1 layer Microfleece. I actually cut this much larger than the contoured insert. I've been able to use the same inserts in the larger nappies also, saving me more $'s. I have a good 20 terry nappies still in packaging intentionally left over that haven't been 're-engineered' *lol* or used, so I will see how I go with #2. Given it's the opposite flavour to Morgan he may be a completely different poopadooper-wee'er! ![]() Above is just what worked for me and may give some ideas as I know I found it quite overwhelming getting my pregnant brain around all the lingo and gathering ideas and info on what others were using/making/what worked and didn't etc before she was born... Of course each bubba is different and what may work for some some may not for others. Cheers, L

ok after just buying 11 fluffies fitted nappies off ebay, I am now going to go sit in my bed and pick it open, rip out the stuffing and have a look...
After examining them today I must say they don't look absorbant at all and I am a little bummed out (hadn't seen one before I brought these) Would taking the crap out of it and use it as a pocket nappy for at home times when I can change more often?
