Bub is arriving in about 4 weeks time and have only started to think about getting the nappy stash ready. I will be using only flats to start and have only 1 small PUL and Wool wrap from BB (and a few soakers that I have knitted which probably won't fit). Will one more PUL from BB be enough? And what do you think about the OSFA wonderwraps? Should I be getting these instead?
TIA. I love this site and the wonderful advice and knowledge of the members here. |

Get some Bummis hehe. People rave about Bummis. I'm getting some
. I would get one of the OSFA covers and try it, but yeah you may not like it.

wow carla, 10!
i think we had 8 and we really didn't need that many. 4 would have been enuf for benji. we didn't have that many leaks and we were washing every day anyway. PUL dries so quick, and babies grow so fast! ah newborn cloth shopping. so much fun!!!!

I found Bummis and Baby Beehinds small (not newborn) PUL covers were fantastic over MCN and terries. We had 4 PUL covers, 4 assorted fleece and a couple of wool soakers. We only have one blowout on the wool and that was my fault for not tucking in the edges of the terry!

I have 8 PUL covers and rarely run out, I use 2 a day and alternate them between changes to air them, and only wash every 3rd day or so, but some days I get a run and might wet 3 or 4, or they get pooed on. I made one fleece cover which was great but too small, by the time I sewed it up (cut it out before she was born) she grew out of it in a week :lol

I had 4 PUL covers to start with and 2 wool wraps (which didn't get a look in until Isabel was 2 months old because I didn't believe they'd work
).I found this was enough as I generally used 2 PUL covers a day and then rotated them the next day. I was using fitteds and hardly ever got any poo on them. I found the Motherease Rikki PUL cover to be fantastic on a newborn.

Thanks everyone for your input. I like the idea of the OSFA but have not heard much about them. I was initially going to get the 4 pack of Bummis (2 sm and 2 med) from Darling Downs, is this still a good idea? As for fleece covers, are they easy to sew? I bought way too much fleece for liners so I could get mum to sew some covers for me.
