A contour works in a similar way to a prefold. As Skye indicated a prefold is similar to a flat nappy, but much less bulky. It has 3 'sections' that indicate where you fold. Very easy to use. I have heard that the unbleached cotton are very good, and I love the Baby Beehinds Plush prefolds as they are so soft, stretchy and have a hemp strip in one panel for extra absorbancy.

Girls
I checked out the ozclothnappies site. I am sold on buying some prefolds now to supplement what I already have and get it up to 2 day washing. Now all I need to do is pick what type and buy some. I have found 3 main alternatives so far: chinese unbleeched cotton ones 4x8x4 from little koala - very cheap but not sure how effective/absorbant they will be Hemp terry ones 2x3x2 - not sure who to get these through/ price though Bamboo ones -seem to be only 2 thick all over - not sure from where to get them/price though. Any recommendations? Kathok Helen - Yes I know I work fast, I only starting looking at cloth nappies last week! Once I start thinking about something I pool my info and don't stop thinking about it until I have made all the decisions. I am also planning a family reunion for 6 weeks before I am due so trying to be as organised as I can be before 30 weeks, so I can spend more time on this later. |

I have heard good things about the prefolds sold at little koala. The seem to be popular due to their price like you said. Weewuns sell some terry/hemp prefolds though they only seem to have large in stock currently. Baby Behinds sell terry hemp also for $7.50 I think. I have no idea where the bamboo prefolds are stocked either????

Quick question re: newborn covers (if I may)...
At the moment I'm still a part time cloth mum (sposies while out, cloth all the way at home) and I use BBB, BBH, peapods pockets and a bumgenius pocket. When bub #2 decides to come along I would like to use fitteds (HATE flats *shudder*), but I'm unsure what covers to use. Is PUL ok for little-uns? Or maybe fleece? I have a swaddlebees fleece cover which I love, and was thinking something along those lines (maybe a fleece wrap - do they exist?) would be good. I've been doing this for 9 months now, you'd think I'd have some idea of what I was doing, lol! Any advice would be much appreciated, as I'm going to start boosting my stash soon. A couple of nappies a month and I should be just about set I reckon... Thanks ladies.
