Default How many? and what type?

Hi all,
I know its early days yet but I want to go full time cloth with this bubby.
My problem being, my girls were born weighing 5 pounds and 4 pounds 10.
not real big I know. Now....I hate prefolds...I tried SILs on Bryza and they just look wierd and gapey lol. My kids/bubs tend to have no hips or bum and I found that even huggies NB nappies were heaps too ig when they were born. Does anyone have any ideas for me? SIL is teaching me to sew and I want to make some nappies. I have made 3 flannel bunny rugs so far and they are ok. but no curves on them haha

What would be the easiest and best size for me to make? Manda said I can borrow one of her sewing machines. I dont like overlocking so can I still make them?

Thanks for any help

Chris

Hey Chris,
A couple of the girls have had tiny or premie bubs lately so there have been a few threads on what others found worked for them:
another prem: where to buy...
Bubby#2 in cloth

My babes are usually around 7lb so I've stuck with a few nb size fitteds as well as smalls in pockets and AIOs..
Mostly I think I'll be relying on prefolds, flannelette squares and PUL covers for the first few weeks though.

As to how many - I'm still trying to work that out myself!

A small fitted without closures but if you use a snappi would give you good adjustment and a good NB/small cover

Not to sure where a good pattern would be

Something like Vickis/bubblebubs fitted nappies I am thinking of

Wow I am no help

Lesley at cherubs kiss makes Raphaels they are trim nappies i found them great on Meghan *she was 2.4kg when she came home from SCN* i also had a xs Swaddle bees that was fabulous and TINY.

also there are patterns around for preemie sized nappies of you wanted to look into making some... i will have a look i did have a link for one on my pc will see if i can find them

Very Baby make XS nappies that may be of use too.

um in the SCN we used flanelette flats. and snibs. as you could fold them down enough for a small bubby without them being tooo bulky.

I second Lesley's... my baby was 6lb10 born though and I did use plain old terries at the hospital for the first week. Haven't tried Vicki's yet but they look great!

I think I recall some people using Mandy Macs but not sure if on bubbas that small?
