Only sposies at the hospital we were at. I asked one of the nurses to show me how to fold a cloth nappy and she disappeared very quickly

Fiona, Our baby is 14months old now, has special needs and we spend a great deal of time in hosptial (or should I say we have.........as he and I have had a long discussion on how to stay out of hospital ) Its a major kids hospital in Brisbane and I am guessing from the pkt of Huggies disposibles that you are handed as you walk in they would not welcome cloth.
I will ask though.............my major issue is washing them, but I just wanted to see what others had experinced. My eldest is 12 and we used cloth in hosptial when he was born and it was a private hospital............seems they are more open to cloth use.
Thanks

Nicki, if you are at the RCH it will depend on where you are staying for washing the nappies.
I used to use the front loader in SURF when my son was in and my daughter was an infant or we had accomodation at Leonard Lodge or Ronald McDonald house (both of which have laundromat facilities - so need tokens from the offices).

I did realise you meant regular stays in hospital....thankfully we haven't had any admissions for over 2 and a half years...

Cloth is certainly doable if you are organised there.
Good luck!!

really - we had our son in local hospital twice in last few months and they made us bring our own disposables.Thye actually said - you bring own nappies. They had cloth flats there I vaguely recall - but they were even encouraging us to use them or even showed us where we could get them

Only in SCN did they supply disposables not maternity. I never had babies with me so I can't be sure but I saw all the basinettes with packets of own nappies.

As a nurse - we only had cloth in the kids ward but it was
