i've used flats in hospital as they had them, and they washed them. don't know if i'd trust them to not lose or care properly for my nice fitteds though.

I'd suggest asking your hospital what they provide and what they have available utilise their cloth if they have it! otherwise you could consider bringing your own, and geting dh/a friend to take them home to wash??

Hi Nicki,
I find that as long as I have a sealed nappy bucket with me that there are no problems using cloth in hospital. I also have a large wetbag inside so my ex or friends can take it home and just wash the nappies for us.

Maybe check with your hospital. I didn't ask them if we could use it...I just asked them how I could be organised to use them there...

Mine provided flanny flats and snibs and most people seemed to be using them too which was great - all those tiny cloth bums!

Our private also supplies terries, as does the QEII family centre (for sleeping & feeding issues). BYO covers. Although I also take newborn fitteds for going home. As I've had CS births, it was easier to use their terries than to get my DH or mum to wash nappies for me - they also have to look after the other kids while I'm gone.

I was lucky that Geelong Hospital provide cloth nappies to use whilst you are there. They were a bit stingy with the snibs tho! LOL
I'm not sure what they use here at Hamilton Hospital. I'll take in my own cloth nappies if they don't provide them (otherwise I'll use their resources first... hehehe). I certainly won't be asking their permission tho. I don't think they can stipulate what you use on you bubby's bot-bot.

I just had a look back through my maternity book from my hospital from Jessica, it says on the list of item's to take for baby - 1 packet of newborn disposable nappies

I have no idea if they have cloth nappies there since I did sposie with Jessica until she was 9 minths old, but from that wording it doesn't seem like it I think for my next bub I will just take my own cloth and covers and get dh to take them home and wash them Surely it's each parents choice if they want to take sposie's or cloth for their new bub to hospital

I would think that hospitals would prefer it if we took in cloth nappies so that there's less rubbish for them??
