I just wanted to share a lightingbolt moment that I had today when I worked out that I have spent $14000 dollars on disposible nappies in the 12 years I have been a mumma..............I am so ashamed, that money could have gone to so much more............HMMMMMM this figure is a lesson to any parent that doesn't think Cloth are worth the effort or start up outlay. I came to that figure on at least one child in nappies for the last 12 years and at times I have had 3 (fosterbabies) in nappies............I have used some cloth during that time but not enough................I hate to even think of the Eco impact that this single house has had on landfill..........Turning over a new leaf tonight...........ordering those BBH as soon as I can.

Don't think about it too much as it is depressing.

Today /tomorrow is a new day " I will not waste money on throw away nappies nor will i create landfill".

Its depressing alright, since I had to work to pay for them some years!!! what a circus.........Its a new day though, and the great thing is I convinced to other Mumma's today to look into Cloth, when I told them how much money I could of saved...........let alone the Landfill saved.
I am turning into a radical already and haven't even got the nappies yet LOL..........just gotta work it into the budget,(couple of weeks) in the mean time I am using the old faithfuls........square flats :O)
any idea's where I can buy decent waterproof outers ??? I am buying Baby Beehinds for long term use..........

oh those lightbulb moments can really hurt sometimes! Good on you for switching after all this time!

If you're worried about initial outlay, maybe try buying 2nd hand? I'm proud to say that almost all of my current stash was bought 2nd hand!

Yep, 2nd hand is a great way to go. A lot of people sell things that have hardly been used because of fit issues etc, so you can pick up some great things. Buyena is the place to look at the moment for 2nd hand nappies, which is:

if you want one sized covers too the wonderwraps on darlingdownunder look good . baby beehinds do sell pul covers aswell, but they are sized
