![]() Hi, I thought I'd pop in with some photos from the Melbourne sewing workshop on Wed. We encourage people to bring old towels or any cotton fabric laying around the house. The one down the bottom without the elastic (next to rainbow) is an old Thomas the Tank towel. The green/grey on next to it I think was made from stuff around the house and up the top the one with buttons is made from the husband's old shirt. Cheers A

Yeah, I have just made a woollen cover from an old merino wool throw we had. It was too small to use as a picnic blanket, so it was sitting in the bottom shelf of the linen cupboard for the last few years.
However I used some old underwear elastic which is totally dreadful and has no stretch. So I'll have to shorten it at the rise in order to fit - which will be fine as we don't really need elastic since he doesn't poo in nappies anymore. I'll wait until he's awake to show it off. Cheers A

OK here it is.
This is as he would wear it to bed. Henry is currently double nappied at night, hence the enormous bum. I may have to unpick and redo the elastic with something better, but I'll see how it goes first. ![]() ![]() Cheers A

Ok, I did mine today too!
It is made out of a stretch shirt of mine that was too stretched out of shape to sit properly, but I loved it so much I hadn't thrown it away! Sorry my 'before' pic was taken after I'd already cut it out.. whoops! I forgot!! hehe http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...981/nappy1.jpg And I cut up an old terry flat my SIL gave me to use as a spew rag http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...981/nappy2.jpg With the extra off cuts I added 3 extra layers down the middle http://i76.photobucket.com/albums/j3...981/nappy3.jpg Stitched it, added elastic stolen from another nappy and turned it inside out! I have a snap press so I snapped the sides and there you are! The only thing not recycled therefore is the snaps. I hadn't even thought of buttons! What a great idea. (a lot more work than snaps though, lol) ![]() I was so proud of myself when I'd finished Love Kristi and Vienna p.s. should i just copy this and add it to the other thread? Or just add the pictures? oops.. also had to ETA it is now sitting in the nappy bin as I just put it on V to take the piccie.. got up close and smelt her little present for the new napp
