Default pre-washing nappies?

I have just received two new pea pods and the instructions for the inserts says to wash 5-10 times to reach absorbancy. A thought just crossed my mind though - Do you need to let them dry inbetween washes?

No, you can just put them back in with the next load of washing...it's to remove the natural oil in the hemp and increase the absorbency.

nope just leave them in with your other washes. but remember not to put fabric softener in with them.

i generally give new nappies with hemp and thing 3 hot washes before use then they keep getting better as they get washed more

What the others said!

I'm usually lazy and only do about 3 washes so it takes a couple of wears to get full absorbency so I make sure the new ones are used around the house only in the beginning.

I do one pre-wash and just change more frequently until the absorbency increases, I hate wasting water like that!

Thanks girls,
I ended up doing 5 low water level, short washes and they have been fine. It said on the tag to do 5-10. I too hate wasting the water!
