Default Advice on intro to cloth package

Hi

i'm new to cloth & wondering whether an 'intro to cloth package' may be a good way to try some of the nappies that seem poular - one has -

Bumgenius Pocket Nappy
Tots Bots Bamboozle (Aplix)
Tots Bots Cotton Fitted
Baby Greens Growing Greens
itti bitti All In One
Berry Plush cover
nappy bag

for $160?

i like the idea of bamoo/hemp/organic nappies so this seems like a good range but
is that ok value?

what do the experts think?

Welcome Bek! I think that you can't go wrong with Tots - though they are bulky, I've never had a leak or a bad experience with the Tots.

I wouldn't worry about a nappy bag either - just use whatever you are using now. The money for a nappy bag cna go towards other nappies to try.

Everyone has different favourites for different reasons. When my kids were less than 1 year old, I preferred fitteds and covers 'cause of the explosive breastfed poo factor. Now that they are much older, I prefer AIOs 'cause its just easier to use out and about - not to mention easier to put on when they're (sometimes literally) running around.

My current favourite is a Rumpster.

I would also concentrate more on getting good covers (if going fitted and covers). My favourite covers are Motherease Airflows (PUL) and also fleece covers (all the brands I've tried I've been happy with). If you have a good cover, then you really can't go wrong with anything else.

Yep I love the Nurture Nappy Stash package. Some great (and hard to get normally lol!) nappies in there that give the opportunity to try before you buy heaps of the one kind. Free delivery on that too.

I agree with lindys - great way to try some hard to get nappies.
Good luck

I *think* when you work out the cost of buying those nappies individually (without postage of course) then you basically are getting the nappy bag and delivery free. I am just guesstimating though, will work it out exactly when I have finished tidying up lol

Some of those nappies like Tots Bots and Growing Greens are pretty much always in stock, others require a wait for stock to arrive at times (like Bumgenious and Berry Plush), others you have to be quick on the computer and find out when they are being stocked ie: virtually as soon as stock appears it is sold (like Itti Bitti)!

The total cost of those nappies is $156.50. Once you include the wetbag ($26 if it is the regular size or $20 if it is the mini...I am not sure which you get), the package value is $182.50 or $176.50. So worse case scenario you save $16.50 plus your shipping on 5 nappies/1cover/1wetbag.

That sounds like a good range to try. When I was starting out I looked for seconds or second hand and bought one of lots of different types so I could work out what suited Molly. Just because something is popular doesn't mean it is the best for you, so use those ones to see what works and then look around for similar nappies that may be easier to get.
