Default Pea Pods Leaking??

Hi,

I've recently purchased some Pea Pods but everytime I use them they leak. In fact, they seem to leak worse everytime I use them - today my DS entire jumpsuit was wet, plus the sheets, mattress, gro bag - you name it.

I prewashed them 4 times and they've been washed 3-4 times since then. Shouldnt the hemp be absorbent by now?? Is there something I'm doing wrong / could do better?

Thanks

Are you using any fabric softener in the wash?

And when you stuff them, are you making sure that inside the pocket, the stuffer goes right to the edges? (ie. the elastic?)

I cant seem to make the stuffer go right to the edges around his bum. It works well between the legs but at the back it doesnt go right to the seam (which of course is where it is leaking).

Hmmm if that's where it's leaking, then that must be the problem...
you may need to try a different insert?

I would have thought it would usually be absorbed thru into the hemp before it had a chance to run down there though - have you tried putting the microfleece part of the nappy under a tap to make sure it's not repelling liquid?

Peapods have generally worked for me but yep, they might be just not a great fit for your little bubba there

what are you using to stuff them with?
(sorry don't know those pockets specifically so not sure if they have their own inserts)

also how old is bub? is he mobile? pockets often don't work on a young bub that doesn't move around much.

you could try microfibre cloths on top of the hemp, it sucks up the wee quicker than hemp, so you may get less leaks.
how long before they leak? straight away or after a few hours?were you using them at night or was it just a nap?

My bub is 13 weeks old, so not moving much at all.
They come with their own hemp inserts and I have been using a microfibre insert as well as he can be a big wetter.
They generally leak within 1 hour, or whenever he has done a wee or poo. I've tried using them at night, during the day when awake and for a nap. Basically they seem to leak no matter what the situation.
A mum at my mothers group recommended them as her bubs is same age and she has never had any problems.
Might just not suit my little man
So far I've just been using terry flats but am becoming very dissatisfied with them also, so hopefully I'll find something else.
