Hi and congratulations!
I prefer fitteds with covers for reliability (we have never had any poosplosions with them). I use onesize baby beehinds. They fit my daughter from birth, but as you are having twins, they probably wouldn't fit them for awhile. They are also pretty easy - daycare has no problems using them. Even though everyone said to wait and see, I bought a bulk pack of BB's and love them. Luckily I use pockets and AIO's when we are going out as it makes for less to carry and a faster nappy change, however only slightly! I find it harder to get a perfect fit with pockets and AIO's though, but the fitteds are great.

Pockets and AIOs are great.
I really like my Bumgenius and Green Kids pockets. For AOIs I like Cushie Tushies. They're cheap fleece AIOs and fit my chubby bub really well. Bubblebubs are very good quality but dont fit DS. When DS was little I liked Kissaluvs and Baby beehinds PUL covers. I was going to use prefolds but found it all too hard! If I had to do it again, Id get a heap of Kissaluvs (size 0) and then pockets and AIOs once he outgrew those.

Congratultaions on your twins and also your decision to go with cloth. Be warned though - it is seriously addictive!!!!
You will find this site a real wealth of information and so helpful too. There are many users with heaps of experience and lots of lovely lovely nappy nerds Your thread was interesting as you mentioned the brands that make up the lions share of our nappies ATM. We use almost all pockets and AIOs now. I also used prefolds with covers for Max as a newborn in addition to pockets. The prefolds are versatile if you like them and can later be used as pocket stuffers too. Pocket wise I have fuzzibunz and bumgenius and love love both brands - really reliable for us and we have just started using the bumgenius for nights with great success. We also have haute pockets which are also onesize as well as peenuts pockets (harder to get though). For AIOs we use a combo of rumpsters and ittis and I am also trying to add more bubblebubs to our collection. Would love a honeyboy to try also but again a little harder to get. Good luck with your buying - what great fun to start collecting fluffy mail!!!

Congratulations on your twins.
Not sure if I can help much, but I personally would say, don't go and buy a heap of one type of nappy until you see which type suits you and your children. Everyone likes something different and different fits suit different children. I personally use AIO's and fitteds, but mainly AIO's because I'm lazy lol. Pockets don't seem to work for us, but others love them. Good luck with your research.

Congratulations on your pregnancy and best wishes for the upcoming birth
![]() For NB I'd recommend fitteds with covers. Sizing depends on how small your bubbas are. Isabel was about 3.7kg and fit into smalls (rather than xs or nb sizes) and one size nappies from birth. All in Ones are great, but I found them more useful from about 4 or 6 months when the frequency of changing reduced. I agree with the others - try a selection of nappies and don't assume that because a nappy suits as a newborn, it will suit as a toddler. Good luck

I never had a newborn in cloth- didn't discover them until 2 months old. I would probably use fitted with nice wool covers to start, and AIO after a few months old. Can you sew up some fitted yourself and get someone to knit some wool covers?
Otherwise AIO's are great, but if you are not going for OS then it can get costly if you buy different sizes. That's why fitteds are a good option to start, there are a few good cheaper ones out there, peep-o, humble bum etc. Oh and I beg to differ what WB said, fleece AIO's don't have to be bulky, I own a few, honeyboys, bubble bubs and others, and I actually prefer fleece over my pul ones, they are softer on DD's legs. Although I do have a few PUL ones too, itti bittis being my favourite, they have microfleece lining inside which is lovely and soft. These are pretty much my favourite brand of nappy :-)

Hi
![]() I am expecting twins in July too! Congratulations - it's such an exciting time ![]() I am still building my newborn stash but have decided to go with a combination of prefolds and covers and newborn size fitteds and covers for the early days. I love the AIO's for my toddler (who is now 16 months) and mainly use Bubblebubs for her at the moment but I remember when she was little and the only way I could contain those newborn poos was with the use of a cover like a Motherease Rikki or a Bummis wrap. I have purchased some of the premmie prefolds from the wee wuns as they are really quite tiny and should fit them from the start (actually, I might need to get some more! They are pretty cheap and should last a long time and have some use as pocket stuffers etc.. down the track!) I have also bought about 14 of the fitted nappies from Tracee at Whiz Kidz (on Ozebaby) The price of these is great and I am hoping to get lots of use out of them before the babies outgrow them! I have got two AIO's at the moment because I couldn't resist the tiny Bubblebubs But I am not expecting to use AIO's from the start because of leakage issues.I am still contemplating exactly how much more I will need though... have you decided on the number of nappies you will be aiming for in your stash? Good luck anyway, newborn nappy shopping is so much fun ![]() Marnie

Congratulations expat and Marnie - double delight.
I have non identical twin boys born July 06 - now 9 months - born at 35wks 4days one was 2.1kg and other 2.9kg - big size difference. Average is about 2.5kg for twins. I didn't use cloth then though. I would agree most one size fits all wouldn't fit a 2.1kg baby -even 2.9kg baby well. Marnie sound sounds like she is on target. I would agree with Marnie- go prefolds and good covers,or newborn fitted /covers- till they again a bit of weight and you can see what might suit. Prefold can be used again later as pockets as they said. Even the flats would be huge on tiny bubbas. In early days you will go through a lot of nappies ... double with two . Lucky we were in SCN - and used their huggies about 8 -10 changes a day - as you change them sometimes they decide to christen another clean nappy with either a wee or poo. The huggies were even so huge on Joel. The OSFA would be good once they get to few months and mixed sized AIO's. AIO are quick and easy to use especially on wriggling babies and when you have two to change quickly and one crying waiting for you too. Plus going out... less to carry and less to lose ... all the boosters and bits would worry me.
