Default Wipes - What is too big or too small?

I'm new here and this is my first post. I've been sewing cloth nappies and wipes and other tid bits for a while now to create a stash of stuff while we are TTC; I can't stop sewing I am loving it so I thought I would make a few things for friends.

So anyhow would love to know what from experience people find are the best sizes for cloth wipes. I have a 16cm square cutting tile and would have liked to use that, it is what I have used for my own stash. It is a perfect fit formy palm

Thought I would check and see what advice everyone might have.

Cheers, Pippa.

Hi pippa and welcome to NC come and introduce yourself here when you get a chance http://www.nappycino.com.au/forum/getting-know-you/

Wipes of various sizes are good but if you find 16cm a good size go with it Some people like big wipes so they can fold it over and keep wiping, others like small ones that do one wipe but then you may need a few per change.

I like ones that fit into one of those huggies disposable wipes travel cases, folded in half. Sorry, can't tell you the exact size!!

I have different sized one because I make them from off cuts - whatever you like to use. I would say 16 x 16 would be a good size. I found if they were too big then a poo could get out of control sometimes

Mine are also made from the 16cm cutting square, one side terry and one side flannelette. I love them, they are just right.

I think I cut mine 18 x 18 cm, so 16 x 16 is only a little bit smaller than mine. It's a good size, fits into my decor box easily. I don't like them too big, cause then they don't fit.

I use big ones for poos and little one for a quick wipe down

My favourite size is just a tiny bit larger than the average disposable wipe. I'll have to measure one lol coz I'm no good at estimating size.

http://www.vk6ksj.net/klgallery/Home...le-Nappy-Wipes

having said that I have wipes of all sizes, shapes, colours and fabrics lol - mostly for the pp reason of using up offcuts and so on, some came as special extras in fluffy mail parcels, some my Mum made and some were just running out the life of old towels etc
So I have some lush wipes, some funky ones, some luxury ones and just functional ones.
Some are overlocked finish one layer, overlock finish two layers ie flannel one side terry on the other, or both terry sides etc, some are stitch and turn again with variation in what fabric on which side.
