Default BBB at night - fleece or wool?

I am looking at getting the BBB night package from Baby Soft Landings, as it looks like a good value for money way of doing night nappies if I can use normal BBB. So should I get the fleece or the wool cover? (it comes with the Stacinator range)

I know a lot of people use wool, but Charlise sleeps in a Gro-bag, so would it be too hot? For some reason I am leaning towards fleece, but not sure why (maybe I am lazy and don't want to look after the wool!) I guess I will probably try both eventually, but want my 1st night time effort to be a success if possible.

So, fleece or wool?

I actually think wool would be easier to look after and stay more even temperatured than fleece.

With wool it doesn't get smelly, I wash maya's woolies probably once a month, unless they get poo on them of course. I think the fleece would be very stinky by then.

Having said that I have not tried fleece so perhaps someone with a more balanced experience can give you a better idea

go with the wool. i only use wool overnight and I've never had a temp problem. Marcus sleeps in a sleeping bag with a wool soaker on. you'll probably have to wash fleece more often (at least IME) and I agree that the temp will probably be more regulated in wool than fleece.

This is my opinion only but out of the fleece covers I have used the stacinator didn't hold up to my expectations.

I've used stactinator, tot bots and a WAHM and the tot bots and WAHm I never had any trouble with but the stacinator would wick everytime.

I was a huge fleece advocate before I discoverd wool so now use only longies and shorties for bed.

Good luck with you decision.

id use wool. fleece holds onto sells more, so needs more washes, so one may not be enough. i have NEVER had a leak with wool, but have with fleece

Wool all the way, fleece needs to be washed each time it's used.. wool lasts for ages, actually weeks without needing to be washed and it doesn't get any hotter than other fibres - plus wool holds up much better.

Lucas has slept in a gro-bag for a number of months now and he has been in BBB and wool the whole time . Wool is breathable and cool in summer/warm in winter. I would go with wool.

I wash about once a month too - am considering trying spray lanolin now never thought I would

Will the soaker go ok with a bodysuit clipped over it?

I'd recommend making sure the bodysuit is roomy, IYKWIM. I had Louis sleeping in a wondersuit (quite a snug fit they are) over a wool soaker, and I found that it just wasn't a good combination. don't know what it was, whether there just wasn't enough airflow, or the material of the wondersuit or what, but just didn't seem to work too well. when I switched him to a fleece bodysuit that was larger in size, I had better results.
