Default Disposable liners Q?

I bought some disposable liners last week as having no laundry trough and having to rinse nappies liners in a bucket it was getting rather annoying and seemed to use a lot of water using the regular tap. Especially with a nearly 2yo DS who does nasty sticky poos. They just dont seem to roll of the microfleece liners either!
I have had some success with the paper mio liners but other times they have just sort of scrunched up between his chubby sumo cheeks . the milo liners are quite wide so I usually fold 1/4 to 1/3 along the length before placing into the nappy. Is this the right thing to do? are there any tricks to using these or is it just pot luck as to whether it works or not?
When they do work I am VERY happy lol. very satisfying to drop the yuck straight into the toilet!

Also to me, they feel like that annoying toilet paper that you get in public loos, that come out in a leaf form. are other types softer? I would hate to have a scratchy paper wedgy with one of those . That made me think that maybe there is one of those rolls in a cheap brand somewhere that would do as a liner instead of the expensive liners. I am washing the wee only ones for re-use at least. I just wondered if anyone had experimented with using a "strong" toilet paper or paper product like serviette, kitchen towel or toilet paper? I am thinking of trying a few different things. aso thinking of using kitchen towel as flushable wipes. I know it is easy to use cloths, I just hate that sticky poo and with my sensitive pg nose I can still smell traces of it after washing and it turns my stomach.
thanks for your help.
Helen

They reckon Viva kitchen towels are strong. However dont know about flushing them and the chemicals in them YK. Plus I dont think they are cheap either.

Interesting question!

Don't fold the Mio liners, allow them to extrude out the side of the leg openings and up the front and back if they do, they don't wick and this should stop them from ending up all squashed and giving your son a wedgy!

I've used both the Mio and the Eenee liners and I much prefer the size of the Mio liners, the fact that you can wash them a couple of times before they disintegrate (the eenees disintegrate like a tissue in the wash) and I don't find that there is any real difference between the two texture wise. There's another brand of liners on the market that are Mio liners in different packaging and a few extra $$.

Thanks Jayne! Have wondered about how to get maximum coverage. This is a good tip. I really like the Bambino Mio liners and yes they go through the wash a few times..

Thanks for the tip re not folding! I WAS worried about wicking which is why I was folding. That should make life easier, especially if they work every time or most times now.
The Mio ones I have are on a roll..
cheers,
Helen

I don't think the toilet paper would be much good at giving a stay dry layer I cut my roll of flushable liners in half with a bread knife and keep half the roll in the nappy bag. We only use flushable liners when out and then only when I remember so they last ages!

I have no experience with flushable liners. Have you considered getting a little squirt so you can just wash the poo off into the loo as well as being able to spray the wipes? Just my 2cworth

Yes, I would like a little squirt but the whole wet area of bathroom/toilet and laundry is "supposed" to be getting a reno sometimes soon and the trough we have has a spray attachment to go with it already so I want to see how it willl all work first. In the meantime, I have a bucket balanced on some tins where the old trough used to be and have to empty it into the toilet.
Cheers,
Helen

I use disposable wipes when i am out and they come home and get washed with the nappy. Then when they are dry they make ok liners, quite strong. (But we are still at runny poo stage) You can't flush them though but you can get lots of use out of them before they are binned.

PS having read about using cloth wipes when out, I may try it now. The cloth wipes I use are cut-in-quarters chux wipes. They just go in the nappy bucket after.
