I have a 20L Target one which I find barely does a days worth with all my flats, even though I also have a 10L one in the toilet for the pooey nappies. So, I upgraded to a nylex 50L bin from Bunnings for $35. Lid clicks on and is a lift up and dump 'em in, so there's no reaching down and popping lids undone, then done up again. Airtight (no smells!!!!) and I've been able to put a hook on the back and loop a cloth bag up and over and in the bin full of bi-carb & essential oils. Now it easily does two days and when #2 arrives his/hers will fit in there as well and when nappying days are over I have a bin for the garage/shed

I am using a regular large bucket without lid. I just throw a terry flat over the top and it contains smells and lets it all "breathe" so it's not sitting there going all funky and wet. There are very few if any smells escaping and I wash every second day adn throw the flat in the wash with the nappies. The bucket then goes out in the sun while the nappies are on the airer. (I actually have 2 buckets I rotate) Neither bucket smells at all.
In the old soaking days, I used a large mayo bucket from a takeaway. cost $4 with a lid. I find that I can't be bothered with lids and the kids always manage to break the pedal bins I have had.

I use a bio-hazard bin that happened to come home from work with hubby one day. Now those things have seriously sealable lids.

I had a look in Kmart and Target and was disappointed at how small the nappy buckets were!
Would you believe I found a decent sized one at our local Target Country?? LOL The bigger Target in Geelong only had really little ones.

I've got a big one with a snap on lid (think I got it from Big W too) but love theidea of getting pre-used buckets from businesses instead of buying new!

I'd recommend a big bucket ... mine is 20L and holds the nappies I need it to for one bub & washing every 2 days ... sometimes the lid needs a very good push to stay on by then LOL.
