I think if I have another I'll get some MCN's, especially pockets and fitteds with the baby bonus but flats fine for now.I too have a love of seeing all the flats hanging on the line. I also get pleeasure from the fact that you can see my line from the street! Though I think Milly might be walking funny because of the fold we are using so I'll have to find a new one.
Oh Well

There certainly is something about seeing a row or two or clean crisp white flats on the line!

I dont think I would have it any other way!

We used them with Jet until he was 15 mths old...by then he was drenched in the morning as a terry flat just wasn't absorbent enough for overnight....add to that his wrigglyness and my being pg mcn was very appealing and we converted slowly.
Indy was pretty much in flats fulltime with the odd mcn here and there, but he has started out whizzing the flats also and is now in mcn fulltime.
I do miss the flats a lot....I LOVE folding them, and I expect despite the growing stash of nb nappies I have for next time, the next bub will wear its fair share of terry flats too

grumble of the day: Living in a street that only gets dial up or over the top ridiculously exxy wireless. And dh is supposed to be running his web development biz from home now too. So he's on forced holidays. You'd think we're in woop woop, but no. dh was getting top ADSL just 400m up the road at his old office. Long grr, should've made it a post.

I used flats with my first 3, then went sposies with the younger 3 and have recently gone MCN with the two youngest as they're bed wetters...so feel I've come full circle.

I guess you end up back at where you start sometimes, Jack was in terry squares after he was born but he got such terrible excema that we put him in sposies. I recently returned to terry squares and our new baby due sin September will be in cloth full time - even if she has excema as I learnt alot of lessons from last time.

we use terry flats during the day - hemp and bamboo fitteds at night - but i love the fact that you can change the fold to suit the baby (we use the kite fold and i tuck them in under the thighs for a nice fit) and that they can be used for about a hundred other things too. my four year old like to help fold them but i think we need a few more training sessions!!

i'm in a bit of a mess at the moment because our washing machine isn't draining - i opened it after it stopped the other day and water gushed out all over the floor!! grrrr...so he's in sposies until i get to the laundromat. not happy - they smell bad! the sposies - not the dirty nappies!!

Used terry flats full time with my first 7.5yrs ago. Only for 6mths because after that they were threadbare. That put me off cloth. If only I had known that good quality terries can last longer than that!

I bought some terries for my 4th (we don't have good quality ones in the town where I live) and thought I would try again. Then I discovered MCN. I will get around to figuring out a trim fold for my bub (she has hyperextensible hips so needs to wear a trim nappy to keep her hips in line). For the moment, I'm feeding an addiction and the terries are sitting there waiting.

I have a friend who has done full time terry flats with all 7 of her children (her youngest is 4mths). I saw her nappies for the first time the other day. Fantastic quality. I probably would've stuck at it if I had've had a better brand to start with.

There are definite advantages to terry flats and I would most definitely recommend them to anyone starting out with cloth. It really comes down to the cover doesn't it?
