Hi & Welcome To NC

I hope this might help: ( From Ozcloth)
Where can I buy larger sized cloth nappies?

People with more rapidly growing babies or older children sometimes have trouble finding XL and larger nappies. Some nappies available in larger sizes include Honeyboys, Happy Heinys, Very Baby, Pea pods, Fuzzibunz, Pookey Pockets, Bits for Bots, Keester Kovers, Bubblebubs, Baby Bloomers, Motherease bedwetter pants, Yoyo pocket trainers, and Naturally Mum hemp sleepers. In addition, many WAHPs who do custom nappy sewing will sew a larger size on request.

So these would be the ones to try & get 2nd hand from Buy for Baby/Oz cloth trades/the NC wanted/Trade section or to get patterns for your mum to make.

Anyway I hope this helps

Someone mentioned before that terry flats may be an option. If you're looking for something that will fit both your older child and the newborn (and obviously the one in between!), then you might like to try some different folds on your older child now before bub is born. This won't be a huge outlay and if you find one that works, invest in some good soakers (maybe 4?). Then all you need is a few bamboo boosters, a few covers/pockets for the two littlies and you have a kit that will do all your children day and night.Only you know your children's needs and your routines so it may take a bit of fiddling with everyone's suggestions til you come up with 'the answer'. Good luck in your search! Coming on here is a great place to start

I have a 3.5yr old DD who weighs 19kg and is wearing size 4-5's, she wears a large Bubblebub at the moment, so I'd say an X-Large would definitely fit your ds. I also have a Honey Boy pullup in X-Large that my 5yr old 20kg son wears as he's a night wetter.

I've just ordered a Tango nappy as Tanya said they fit up to approx 25kg, so am looking forward to trying that.

I've also just tried two sample nappies from "Lou-Lou" http://loulounappies.com/lou_lou_nappy_info

A large and an X-Large and they are very generous sizings, and Theresa is very helpful so perhaps get in contact with them. I'm getting the large as the x-large is too big and could almost wrap it around them twice.

If all else fails you could contact Jan at Yoyo nappies (www.yoyonappy.com). She does custom sizes upon request including for older kids. She's in NZ though. I was personally thinking an XLarge or XXLarge Fuzzi Bunz but no idea about availability.

Thank you everyone for your advice. There are some fantastic suggestions there that i will definitely follow up on. I measured Ethan the other day and he is 53cm around the waist. The disposables i use on him have a rise of 53cm and is too low hence the welts on his legs. I'm not sure how to measure his thighs? What part do i measure?
Huntersmum - How does the rise fit on hunter? Do you know the rise on him? i have looked at the bubblebubs AIO. Though i'm not sure what you use an AIO for. From researching it seemed that people only use AIO's for going out because they're not as absorbent and take longer to dry once washed.
I do like the idea of pockets and from researching, happy heinys and fuzzibunz had details of their exact measurements rather than weight sizing. They look pretty similiar, are there any differences between them? I would like to try one or the other, but not sure which size to go for XL or XXL. XXL has a rise of 63cm which would be better, but I'm concerned the waist will be too big. I have sent some emails to different cloth stockists to find out the measurements of different brands, just waiting on their replies.
I have heard great reports on the green kids as well so i will definately see if they make bigger nappies.
Mum came down this week out of the blue, so i have loaded her with a pile of patterns i found on the net and see what she can come up with.
Kristy mum to 3 - I would be absolutely wrapped if you could adjust a pattern to suit as they are confusing. I would like to try either a fitted or a pocket nappy on him, probably prefer a pocket, because i can make it less bulky (He's so used to disposables, i'm afraid he will protest if it's too bulky) and then i don't need a cover as well?
or do i? Oh and congratulations on your upcoming little arrival. Hope all is going well.
Oh and i live in Pakenham VIC if anyone knows someone local that could help (other than Janie). I have emailed Janie at wee wuns, just waiting for a reply.
Thank you all again for your help, i'll let you know the end result.
P.S My first delivery of cloth nappies came today for my younger son, so i have officially entered the realm of cloth nappies for the first time. It was very exciting opening that first parcel. I'm now in the process of prewashing them and can't wait till they're dry so i can start using them. I can definately see how they can become an addiction. They are so suprisingly soft and pretty, nothing like disposables!!!!! Love at first sight.
