Hi
I’m a mum to a little 22 month old girl and a little boy due at the end of the year. I have been using terry cloth nappies with my daughter and recently saw a segment on TV about new style nappies. After searching online I came across the nappy hunt, which I joined and although I find very difficult, have enjoyed immensely. I am planning to continue with the terry nappies with my daughter as I hope to toilet train her soon, however I would like to purchase some new style nappies for my son. During the hunt I have found some stores which are offering cheap or trial nappies which I am interested in. Before purchasing, I would like to hear any opinions on these products. http://www.mandymac.com.au/proddetail.php?prod=sp http://www.wahmnaps.com/product.php?VP=749 http://www.wahmnaps.com/product.php?VP=804 http://www.wahmania.com/product.php?VP=2461 http://www.ozebaby.com.au/product.php?VP=6530 http://www.ozebaby.com.au/product.php?VP=8604 Are the shopping mall type sites where the nappy stores clearance their nappies? I’ve noticed that most of the stores also are part of the shopping malls. Is it better to buy something like this http://www.darlingsdownunder.com.au/prodde...ITInfant&cat=11 I have a few more question, but will leave it here for the time being thanking you in advance Jean |

Morning Jean. Welcome to NC.
I won't comment on the different nappies you've mentioned, as I haven't tried them. I found one nappy I was happy with and have mostly that one type. It is easiest if you can try a few different nappies on bub and see what you like (ie some people love snaps, and others only like velcro, some like one-size, others prefer getting different sizes as their baby grows). You will be able to read reviews of many nappies here: http://www.nappycino.com.au/bkup/ind...orms&Itemid=26 And you will be able to buy some nappies second-hand here: www.buyforbaby.com.com.au which is a cheaper way to try a few different types of nappies. The "malls" are usually a bunch of wahms (work-at-home-mums) who all share a site to sell their products. Other than that there are nappy makers who have their own sites which they don't share and they only sell their own products, and there are others who sell a number of different brands all in the one store (ie darlingsdownunder). I hope that helps. We'd love to get to know you if you could write a post in the Getting to Know You section: http://www.nappycino.com.au/forum/getting-know-you/ Cheerio, and welcome.

welcome jean.
wow you saw mcn on tv! how cool and isnt the hunt awesome - great way to see lots of products![]() yep we'd love an intro, and asking opinions on certain brands of nappies gets done in the 'nappy and brand help' section -( ie; mandy macs would go in the fitted section ) - you'll get more responses this way. you could also try a 'search' of the forums for the nappies brand names and find previous threads on them....I can only comment on what i've tried/got - some poppets place nappies (yet to be used!) they look well made but only flannel i think, and i have whizzkidz - awesome ![]() lots of people go for prefolds/covers with NB's - you can boost them if you happen to have a heavy wetter and they are like flats - really adjustable for any sized NB, just easier to fold ![]() ![]() I am going to be using both fitteds and prefolds i think if all goes to plan!

Hi Jean Welcome
![]() I am using MCN on my newborn at the moment, she is 8 weeks old so will help you out with what I have found good Most of those nappies you put links to I haven't used **Mandy Macs - Haven't used but most people like them I think **Chubby Chaddy - Haven't used **Buttabeanz nappies - Haven't used **Cushie Tushies - Haven't used........ But I had some nappies made up that are similar to those and I love them...... mine are bamboo outers, hemp and bamboo boosters and fleece lined ..Love the snappi closure cause it makes them really adjustable and the fully fleeced lined nappies are so much easier to clean off that sticky breastfed baby poo **Poppets place - I have some but have to say they aren't my first choice...they are only flannel so aren't overly absorbent, not fleeced lined so harder to clean and require a fleece liner and half the time I can't find one Not much adjustment on the closure and don't have fold over washing tabs for the touch tape...But I do use them and they work fine I just have too many nappies so can be picky ![]() **Whizz Kidz are great but I mainly have the one size side snapper nappies as they will fit for longer and made more sense to spend my money on them when I already had way to many small and newborn nappies HTHs Good Luck on your newborn MCN journey You will find heaps of peoplke around here with lots of great ideas and hints My all time favourites for Abby out of my HUGE stash are Bubblebubs AIOs ETA I bought small sized BBs and they fit fine from birth (Abby was about 8lbs and they are still fitting her now with heaps of room to grow

What suits one bub doesn't always suit another as well. So what you might try on you DD might not work with your DS as well.
Hey but they look good. I have brought from darlings down under a few times, she gives great service. Can't comment on the nappies though as I only brought lots of baby legs. |
