In in Geelong - down from Melb and I havent had a problem with them

Another Geelongian and I now use only AIO's/AI2's. On the line they'll dry in 2 days (if there's no rain) on a 15C day or else I put them on the clothes horse over the ducted heating vents and they take about the same amount of time to dry.

I'm in Canberra and find my AIO's take a day on the line and a night + day inside near the ducted heating on a hanger to dry completely. That's atm. In summer I reckon a day on the line and overnight inside would be fine.
There are so many cute ones how could you not lol!

i'm a melb girl
i have quick drying aio's like itti's and wriggleybumz. i also have bubble bubs and a few others that take longer to dry. the fab thing about the quicker drying ones. is that i can hang them on the airer at night infront of the heater and they dry pretty quick. i actually prefer my aio's on DS but fitteds on DD. really no different care to other nappies. i wash with the rest. hang on the airer and i even tumble the inserts for my itti's/WB and by the time they are dry the outers are generally not far off. i do find HB's or BB take longer to dry and i have just gotten my 1st BBH magicall so i havent used it yet but i think its going to be pretty ok to dry. i also have Berry plushes and they say you CAN tumble dry them I generally line dry when the weather is better and dry on the airer or tumble when the weather is worse. i use fitteds mainly at home and AIO when out. although ds has more AIO than fiteds

The magicalls from Babybeehinds dry pretty quickly and they are a great nappy too.

I'm in Melbourne and don't have many AIOs and drying time is a factor in that. But the ones I have are "show off" nappies that are designed to be seen in summer and not worn under clothing.
However if you want to use AIOs even in winter there are a few brands that are designed for quicker drying such as the Ittis and the Magicalls. So while it's not "pointless" it is something you should consider. Cheers A

I'm in Albany, WA - similar latitude (and weather!) to Melbourne and my AIO's are absolutely fine. My Nicnaps dry overnight hanging on the back of my dining room chairs (should really invest in an airer shouldn't I....)

Thanks everyone. Amanda you have a good point, maybe I'll wait until the warmer weather to try AIO's, and I am still trying to get the hang of pockets and prefolds.(Only ever used terry squares for my older two).... And besides the GDUNH hasn't been kind to my bank balance so don't really need to buy more right away!

Seems like you have lots of responses here
![]() I might just add my 2 cents too ![]() When I started in MCN I was also under the impression that AIO's wouldn't be suitable (I also live in Melbourne) What I have found is that your true style AIO takes a while to dry however the newer style snap in booster AIO's (or AI2's that some people call them) are really great with drying time as you can pull them all apart. They are very similar in composition to a pocket nappy however rather than putting the absorbent material on the inside you snap it on the inside of the nappy instead. Having said that AIO's take a while to dry (3 days) I do own some but I wouldn't fill my stash with them as I could imagine it could get a little frustrating.
