Default liners - is microfleece the only option?

I have a few microfleece liners, am thinking about making some more, just wondering if suedecloth or the Malden Mills equivalent are as easy in terms of no fraying etc?

Would suedecloth be a little to thin? Bunch up and get uncomfortable? MM too thick and might not let the wee through fast enough?

I'm just guessing...someone far more knowledgable is sure to be along soon.

you can also use raw silk, I know people use swedecloth but when I made a nappy with that on the inside I had to cut it out as the wee would'nt go thru...???
I have microfleece as a general rule and it is great

I have suedecloth liners that work just as well. Apparently some suedecloth frays though (mine doesn't) so you may need to do a test first.

Malden Mills microfleece would be fine, i have pocket nappies that use that as a liner

i wouldn't use Malden Mills windpro, 300wt etc as a liner

For people, whose babies do not tolerate synthetics next to their skin, you can use raw silk liners, muslin liners, they need handwashing and i think they might stain too. You could also cut up an old flanellette sheet too and overlock a double layer of that. So they options, i would imagine would be more labour intensive for parents, but if your bub can't tolerate synthetics, it's good to know there are other options.

i haven't tried the suedecloth liners, but theoretically had thought if i did, that i would prolly overlock them to avoid fraying (just a guess so far). Our suedecloth lined pockets work fine, so would try that if i ever got sick of the microfleece liners.

Some people use polar fleece as liners too, i guess if i had no access to microfleece, i might do that. but microfleece has been so easy to source, not been an issue.

There are also disposable liners that you buy in a roll e.g Eenees.
