Starting to look for covers for some of our nappies. I have seen a few different types of covers out there but haven't been sure what i should or shouldn't be getting. Our little man will be in cloth from when he comes home from the hospital, so probably from about 2 weeks. But i ahve no idea what is better...i ahve seen lots of PUL covers and assume they would be pretty good for a newborn...
Any help/suggestions?

I really liked fleece covers on my newborn. They are soft, dry really fast, hold poo explosions in and they are usually a bit cheaper than other covers.
I really liked the small very baby covers, you can buy them from the weewuns http://www.theweewuns.au.com/store/ and Tracee's (whizz kidz) covers are really good too, and super cheap. http://www.ozebaby.com.au/store.php?SS=103

I really liked small Bummis Super Whisper Wraps. Some people like gussets on NB covers for that lovely exploding poo - the new Tots Bots covers (I know Nurture Nappies sell them for one) have gussets and come in some nice prints.
(Both those are PUL. I didnt have much luck with fleece at the beginning but it all depends.)

i found fleece and wool got compression leaks when my bub was small. pul worked a treat. fleece and wool are really good now that she is moving around and not just a blob lying on the one spot all the time.
motherease pul covers are fantastic in my experience, although they aren't the cheapest. that said, i am still using mine from almost 3 years ago so they do last.

Thanks for your input ladies...think i better just get a few different types and see what works. Only thing i worry about with PUL is it getting really hot in summer. It gets pretty hot where we live, so i have been worried about the little guy sweating a lot.

Hey Karen, our faves so far are the tots. We have bummis and bubba j too in pul covers as well as fleece whizz kids and bubba j wool (haven't used these yet) Will catch you on msn later if you are around.

We used Wool with my newborn from pretty much day one home. And I only own two fleece covers now. But I did like the Tots Bots PUL for my Henry when he was little - nice and stretchy and could be used over fitteds or flats.
OSFM fleece were good too - I still love my Jamies, but don't use them as much as I could but still can't say good bye to them |

I found Motherease Rikki were fantastic for NB and I also liked the Tots Bots covers as I had a few of the nappies and they fit well over them.
I didn't trust wool for a couple of months, but this time plan to use wool from day 1.
