You've done some great research to come up with that list!

From my little bit of experience (also new at all of this)...I don't like using microfleece liners for Josie. She's 4 months now, exclusively breastfed and I find the liners do nothing more than create more washing. They slow down those messy, explosive newborn poos from being absorbed and the stain goes through the liner onto the nappy anyway. I'm not going to bother with liners again until she's on solids.

I have found that 4 - 6 PUL covers in any one size is plenty. Even if they get soiled, they are very easily handwashed and dry super fast. My absolute favourite PUL covers are Bots Bots and Mother-ease (both air-flow and rikki are fabulous). I haven't used the Baby Beehinds covers so don't know about them. While others love Bummi's wraps, I'm not all that impressed...might just be the fit on my little girl.

The best fitted nappies I have for newborn/small babies are the Tots Bots Bamboozles in Size 1. They are fabulous. Trim, absorbent, soft, gorgeous! Josie is now a big 4 month old, almost 7kg, and the Size 1 still fit her with a bit of room to go.

I love my BBB but they were much to bulky on Josie until she was about three months old. I've just received some of the BBB in the new softer bamboo and they are divine!!!

Cheap face cloths are fabulous wipes and all I ever use is plain water or a little cooled chamomile tea if Josie has a bit of a rash.

Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy. Very exciting days ahead!

Turando I'm not good with geography but does anyone know if where Clo is is close to Turando?

to your list
agreeing with Mary pretty much.
and I like one-size nappies too, bc even if they don't fit the first few weeks you'll def get the wear out of them over the next months/years
that said, I am planning on NB fitteds this time around as well as one-size so I think it's up to you in that sense iykwim.
Only other thing I'd add is make sure with your nappy count (numbers-wise) that you have allowed enough for some to go in the nappy bag, and how you're going to bum-wipe etc in that case (if not the same as at home). ie for me I have a bottle of Gaia moisturiser in the car, half and half with water (I already had an empty Gaia bottle) and I use that on the wipes when out.

There are other things too like size of baby and build that you can't predict. Even tho my three were all within the same weight range (7lb 12oz, 7lb 1oz, 7lb 13oz) they varied heaps in build - Zeke for example fit one size from birth, substantial bum and thighs whereas Jake was slim with not much on him and still is slim) so lucky for him all we had was flats lol coz it helped hold his pants up

Best of luck and
have fun assembling your stash!

Ok I am clothing a newborn atm, you can see my experiences in the newborn cloth forum. Basically, I love the thirsties covers like you wouldn't believe! And I find they fit fine over flat nappies - over prefolds there is a little bit of nappy sticking out up the top (at the front) but that hasn't been an issue. I have 3, plus 2 bummis newborn covers and that has been enough.

Get the nb fitteds . Life is too short. And they are great for nighttimes, when you might be going 4-5 hours between changes. Just looking at your list, you have about 27 that will fit the first couple of weeks, and the others will phase in as bub grows. So you will probably be washing every day.

Definitely agree you need more liners.

I have one snappi that I'm using fulltime LOL. No idea where the others are.

LOTS and LOTS of wipes (we use facewashers mostly). If you end up with a child like mine you might go through several in one change (my girl likes to spring poos on us while we're changing her).

I find Bubblebubs AIOs to be GREAT for outings (and at home of course!), fitting from about a week of age.

Good luck! It's great fun!

Clo is close-ish! She's in Oman.

Her store is closed for a few weeks while she and the new bub get to know each other but she's fabulous and I can highly recommend her products. She's also fantastic for advice!

Can I post a link? http://www.bubbasandmummas.com/store/Default.asp

Thanks everyone for the advice.

I've cut down on my covers by a tiny bit

Nicola - I'm ordering a Tots Bots Bamboozle in Size 1 too. Just sitting here deciding what colour I want lol. I really need more confirmation on whether this baby is a girl or boy. The sonographer said it was a girl but she said I think and wasn't very convincing. So I'm trying not to buy everything in pink

I'll be ordering more one size nappies around the 2-3 month mark as the flats are mainly for the newborn stage and I figure they are all bamboo so I can use them for boosting nappies later too so doubly useful. Plus then I'll know what kind of baby I have and it will make it heaps easier to buy the nappies.

Anastasia - what size thirsties did you use for a newborn? I am getting some fitted/aios mainly for DH as I know he will not touch the nappy if it means learning how to fold things

Thanks for the link Nicole. I might be able to borrow a friends PO box if I want anything from there.

lol I knew it was Oman just suck at 'where' exactly that is

ps can you sew? if you can then NB fitteds can't hurt - which is why I'm planning on having some (lots lol) as well as the OFM and I want to try some prefolds.
Even if you can't, NB nappies generally sell ok, bc they don't get worn forever so wear-wise do okay,
plus people who want NB nappies but don't want to buy knew, will buy as well.
