Talking Everyone ideas please! :P

Hi! I need to add to my stash, but I just can't really find what I'm looking for. I figure between us all we've tried out just about every mcn there is so can you all give your imput please. Pretty please . If I spend any more time searching on my dodgy old slow computer that keeps freezing I'm going to go crazy. haha.
This is what I'm looking for:
  • Pocket, snaps, AIO, anything as long as I dont have to put a cover over it
  • Absorbent (suitable for a medium to heavy wetter)
  • Natural fibre like cotton or bamboo against skin (no sticky yucky microfibre)
So what do you reccommend??

Firstly... Welcome to NC Helen!!

Hmmm I don't have many pockets... But my faves are SB SS (old style).
I'm sure one of the pocket gurus will be here soon to give you some advice!!

You know, I jumped on this thread thinking "oh that's gotta be an easy one to answer" but you've got me stumped. I can't think of any pockets that have natural fabric next to the skin - most seem to have a poly fabric of some kind to act as a "stay dry" layer. Microfibre is horrid next to the skin, but I can't think of any nappies that are constructed that way.

i think some Bubblebubs (AIOs) have flannellette as the inner layer (touching the skin)?

good luck with your search

Hi you guys are the best. Replys allready
I have a swaddlebees and a bubblebubs (more on the way hehe) and a very baby sleep nappy without microfleece. Yes I'm greedy I want more hehehe. THey are all great, I was just keen to try something different.
I've got my eye on a bits for bots AIO when they come in stock and also a wild child (along with everyone else it seems because if you turn the booster over they are bamboo. I have some bum genious and they have microfleece or suede and they are fine (actually they're great) but I would prefer a natural fibre. So still looking.

The very first MCN I bought was a pouch nappy with microfibre inserts. Its very useful - but I made some flannel socks to go over the microfibre. I guess that has got me looking for a natural lining. The nappies i have with suedecloth and microfleece feel much nicer (nothing against them), I just thought that a natural fibre would breath/feel better on?? For the same reason that your undies have that little cotton gusset.. I know you dont pee in your undies but we are upgrading from terry flats (yay!) so I dont really feel the need to have a staydry liner in there. Anyway I have seen and read about so many new and cute as nappies lately doing the GDUNH and even reading on here, that I thought why not give something new a try and ask for some reccommendations.

No, you are not meant to put microfibre against babies skin, it feels awful to stroke with your hand let alone put it on against your baby's skin, it only goes inside the pocket, microfleece is used against the skin, the reason its used is because it dries quick and leaves baby dry, with a natural fibre such as cotton you will have a wet nappy against the bubs skin.
