Default Washing when you only have a few?

I'm just wondering - as I have only just started my MCN collection, I won't have anywhere near a full washing load for a while. So is it ok to wash nappies with other clothes?

I'm sorry if this is a really dumb question!

I usually do a rinse first and then top up the load with other things. Nappies do pill alot so usually I stick to topping them up with towels, sheets etc

I wash with clothes, towels, whatever. I try to wash DS's nappies every day now because we had trouble with the fabrics disintegrating and I thought it was due to sitting soaked in wee for a few days at a time.

Now both nappies and clothes come out smelling like roses, way better than the nappies used to when it was a full load and they had been dry pailing for 2 days. I have no qualms about washing clothes and nappies together. They get a good prewash and then a full cycle.

It's not a dumb question though, since I think many others wouldn't like doing it.

Yep - we do a load of nappies every night. We put on all the nappies and bibs and on for a rinse, and then we load up everything else. Teatowels, kids clothes and thats usually a load for 2 small kids.
We dont have any sicknesses - we had a dose of gastro in the hosue recently, and the kids didn't catch it at all, so I'm confident our washing regime and line drying kills all the bugs.

yep, just be careful of your water temp depending on what nappies you are putting in as too hot can be bad for things like elastic and some PUL

Ditto what the others said.
I tend to avoid washing fleecy cottons (like tracksuit material) in with nappies because it seems to pill onto the hemp terry, etc. Doesn't affect the use, I just don't like navy blue pills on my lovely hemp naps! LOL!

We only do night time nappies now so I generally wash them when I do sheets or towels.

since we only use night nappies I often do a load of a couple of nappies and clothes. Teatowels are the only thing I don't wash with nappies. And I wash in cold, and since 1/2 the normal amount of laundry liquid works for cleaning nappies, I now use less in every load.
