![]() It wouldn't be the deciding factor for me (A. is going because I'm at uni FT and just can't do all my study between 10pm and 1am anymore, so it's not 100% necessary but I am pretty burnt out without it), but I think that a centre or carer that met all the values I want, would be happy to use cloth. If they wouldn't "let" me I would worry about what else they wouldn't "let" me decide, since they should be about what's best for the child.

I think we are lucky, being inner sydney there are a huge number of childcare centres around. I refused to use a centre that didn't use cloth but I had the luxury of being able to as we had other options and the one that we chose was the best in all respects not just cloth. I would hate to be put in the position of having to decide as like mumtogeorgie I am a student and I need the time to study. In an ideal world I would choose not to send Milly there, but we don't live in an ideal world and sometimes otherthings have to take precident.
Goodluck, nasty decision you have to make there. |

there is only one child care centre near me that takes babies, so if they say no then I will have to wear it I guess but I amgoing to try my hardest to convince them. I don,t want to bother buying disposibles just for kindy

I think if you go in with a positive, confident attitude and show them how easy cloth can be it can dispel a lot of myths. If they say no I would ask to speak to management/owner (very politely of course) and explain my case.

My childcare centre is the best in the area and the ladies are all lovely. BUT they said "NO" to cloth
![]() Now reading this thread, maybe they thought I meant terry flats & pins. Mia goes every Monday (with sposies unfortunately) but when I drop DS off on Tues/Wed with Mia in my arms, I might time it when she's due for a poo and ask to change her there. Maybe if they see how easy and quick it is they might change their minds.

My childcare has said yes to using cloth. It's probably better for them; disposables are covered by the cost so they will save a lot as DD hates being wet! I have a bit of a conundrum though - I don't have enough pockets/AIOs to last the two days she will be in care. Not sure if I should buy more pockets or get training pants instead...

well after all my stress about what to say when asking about cloth, when I finally asked they just said sure no worries. I knew my centre was good with lovely staff but know I am really convinced. I can't believe I stressed about it for so long. Now I just have to learn to sew well enough to make enough for 3 days - oh dear!!!!
