Smile Berryplush on newbie - too bulky?

Does anyone have any experience using berryplush as a cover on a little bub? I would be using them over terry flats but it would be a lot bulkier than a PUL? DH doesn't like PUL covers and would rather we don't use them for new bub (yet he loves BP's and PUL outer AIO's, men huh) They fit over flats on dd just fine but at her age bulk isn't really an issue anymore

Just thought of another question, people seem divided on wool on newborns, some love it, others say the explosive poo's are an issue. I lurve woolies but I don't want to be handwashing them all the time

Just my opinion...
I loved my Berry Plush as a cover but didn't start with cloth until DD2 was 10 weeks so not sure about the real littlies (wanna buy one second hand? I need to up-size ). It wasn't too bulky on my 10 week old, but I didn't use flats, I used fitteds.
I've only been using woolies recently and yes, I occasionally get breastfed poos on them which is a real pain in the ass to have to wash.

So no one else has used berry plush on little bubbas then? Well I've ordered two smalls the other day anyway, and two more large for my toddler I look at the plus side that it will be March, quite hot still so with cute covers like berry plush I won't have to put pants on him so it won't matter to much if they're bulky

Hmm, poppychicken, I will pm you bout those covers, not that I should get to many but I'm really after a jaquar or cheetah print, dh is fussy

Woolies I'm still not sure on, my aunty will knit me them though so I suppose I may as well get her to do some smalls, can never have to many covers I guess. Besides my toddler did a gross, runny teething poo yesterday and it got on her wool soaker, newborn poo isn't as disgusting at least

Berryplushes are PUL

I used them on my newborn as covers, they worked great.
He still fits into the smalls at almost 9 months... (skinny man though)

We use berry plushes here though I have only used them as an aio with the inserts. I found them way to big in the early days, though if you had a flat underneath it mightn't be too bad I guess. I could try them out and take a pic if you like, though bubs is 9 weeks old now so not really a newbie anymore I guess.

We used them, and they did fit well, as an AIO, and as a cover. Daniel was not a small newborn though, at 4kgs. He grew out of the smalls at about 6months- in the rise rather than the waist/legs.

DH knows they are PUL, but they are the ONLY pul he wants, doesn't like the feel of bummis, motherease etc. Berry Plush still feel like PUL inside, but men huh

That's great to know most bubs have fit the small for ages, Jessica can still fit medium and large, she's tall and slim though. She was very long and skinny when she was little so if this baby's the same hopefully he'll fit smalls for ages and be worth the money.
