Sorry for a silly question, but I haven't lived an Australian summer yet. We have no aircon and I don't want to bake my child!
I only have a few fitteds, but I gather from another thread they're best for summer. My question is what do people think about woolies for over, vs other covers? Should I get knitting so I have some covers? Would I want them day and night? I know you all don't think Melbourne is hot, but we seem to have our share of days over 35.

During the day I would just use a fitted and no cover, she isn't that old so won't be moving around that much IYKWIM.
Flynn is over two and on those hot days just a nappy and singlet , the trouble with him is he takes he nappy off all the time and you just see a bare butt run past. At night just a singlet and fitted and soaker or shorts for bed.

Woolies (soakers and shorties) are great in the warmer weather, just remember that you'll get a few strange looks from people who think that you're cooking your kid. (ie "Oh no, that wool is going to be soooo hot on him!!!) Have a few answers ready about how breathable and natural wool is and how it regulates temperature - much better than the plastic pilchers our parents put us in - because you'll need these answers (with a smile) to fend of well-meaning worriers.
