Okay, thanks to all your help I am well on my way and have been using modern cloth (pockets and AIO + 1 prefold & cover) with my 6 month old daughter for the past month and we are all very happy. Now I'd like to try cloth at night... Where do I start? I'd like your recommendations... I think I'll buy just one to start with even if it just gets worn every second night atm and a sposie the next night while I am washing it. Any suggestions on what I should try? It needs to be something that is easy to get (ie in stock) cause I am on my last pack of sposies and I really don't want to buy anymore!
Thanks again for your wisdom... Rebecca |

I second a Fitted & wool cover.
I usually use knitted wool, but am feeling very lazy atm & Mia needed a new cover. Here is what I got from Janie & I love it! They have a great high rise that could be folded down. http://www.theweewuns.au.com/store/results2.asp?Sub=88 You could also get a VBSN from Janie's store also.(Sorry can't provide exact link, some pages want let me) Last edited by Aimee; 01-11-2007 at 09:39 AM. |

I have a heavy wetter who sleeps for 11 hours so I need pretty absorbant nappies. I use bamboo sandmans and wildchilds (used to use CK bamboo nights fitteds as well but she grew out of it). These are all pretty expensive though, especially if you don't really need a proper night nappy.
Why don't you try a MM fleece pocket for starters. You can adjust how much boosting you have so if she ends up being a heavy wetter you can just add more stuffing. They don't need a cover either I have a Liams bum one but she isn't making any more for a while. I have been recommended these ones though - 'Drybees fleece pocket nappies' sold at the Weeuns (on sale atm too!). You could maybe start with a bamboo trifold with a microfibre booster inside.

At that age, my baby was fine with a baby beehind hemp nappy & wool wrap cover. It's only been the last month or so (about 14 months) that we've needed a 'proper' night nappy. If your daughter doesn't do huge wee's yet, a BBH (in either hemp or bamboo) is a cheaper option to start with. They can also be boosted, between the nappy & cover for a bit of extra absorption. And they come in pretty colours now

Should have added - she now wears VBSN, they are fantasic, often don't feel wet on the outside. They are easy to get from the Wee Wuns as a previous poster has said (& provided link for). I've heard good things about the other nappies mentioned, but they can be hard to get. So, I don't bother trying to get them, when I love the easy to get VBSN.
