I ended up using the hospital flannelette flats (with no cover). I had packed prefolds to use, but decided they could do the washing instead of me. The hospital didn't supply snibs/covers and Sienna didn't wee much in the first 48 hours.

My hospital provides nothing in terms of nappies/wipes, oh except for a huggies nappy for right after the birth if wanted.....they do provide little hospital gowns and blankets but thats it.....

I was planning on bub wearing our clothes so I guess a cover would be good just in case....

I have had a practice on Beth's baby doll with the prefolds and I am a little un-co but time will tell

I am really not sure what will best fit a small baby......my bubs have been born at 38+2, 39+6 and 38+6, weighing 3000g, 3670g and 3280g, so not big babies at all....
i hate to tell you this- but i thought the same thing about my kids:

3.5kg (at 40+4 weeks)
3.3kg (at 37+5 weeks)
3.2kg (at 38 weeks exactly)

and wait for it

then i had a 3.8kg baby at 39 weeks!!!!

nothing little about her!!

so there goes my Little Nappies

she just fits into a NB magic all

and she outwees everything

she needs at least 6 layers of hemp/ bamboo to last her 3 hours. (thats how long she was sleeping for)

so last night went booster crazy...

I used flannel flats and bummis covers and then OSFM nappies in Kai. Would have been nice to have some small fitted nappies but I wasn't obsessed then

You can fold down the front of the Wizz Kids NB nappies if you think the rise is too high. You dont have to do the nappies up either (if the cross over tabs dont fit). A good fitting cover will hold it in place.

Oh goodness, i can't even remember how to fold a flanny flat!! I was thinking I'd just let the hospital do all the washing, too - but I might have to pack some MCN so it's what I'm used to... or see if I still have some prefolds...

My DH is better at folding flats than me! He seems to think it's cool (like origami)

I don't have any prefolds. Maybe I should get some? I heard someone saying bamboo ones are good - the only ones I've seen are on Pumpkin.. something. But I'm not sure at this stage if I should get anymore nappies. Maybe I'll just wait and see.

Sometimes I wonder if the SwaddleBs were a bad buy. They look so small.

I have pretty much decided on fitteds and a couple of covers for the hospital stay. Once I get home the prefolds will get a work out as I think in terms of washing/drying they will be more practical......who knows hey ....

they do like to surprise us don't they....funny thing with my bubs was that the heaviest (Beth) was the skinniest...

I have the mini boosters ready and have been cutting out some more to sew I am heeding your advice and I have plenty of hemp here that I can use...might try to fit some sewing in this weekend...
