ooh I'll be watching this thread!
Atm I was planning on just taking my prefolds/flanny flats and my thirsties covers. I think that way I am safe with the fit. I wasnt planning on taking liners but it might be a good idea for when that first poo comes. I have lots of newborn fitteds but was going to leave them for home. prefolds are a lot more compact to pack too. I dont see why you couldnt use your WK straight away as I remember the terry flats in the hospital coming over the cord stump. Looking forward to hearing the other suggestions

I actually found the infant prefolds huge on Immanuel when he was born (3305g), fine for Zevulun but he was 4270g. Immanuel was a definite NB size (of course we were expecting a big one so only had smalls). Nothing we had (prefolds included) fit until at least 3 weeks. I'd go any specifically NB sized fitteds and covers. The first 24 hours they only wet once (supposedly), it's mainly poo so absorbancy won't be your top priority. Optional fleece liners, probably a good idea if you won't be rinsing straight away.

I used a bunch of fitteds that I made myself which lasted for a couple months (since been passed on to Rodent
) I found nb fitteds the easiest but maybe try a few different things. Maybe some osfm pockets might be good if you think you might have a biggish baby?eta-sorry just re-read OP you have smaller babies Last edited by craftykelly; 13-02-2008 at 03:25 PM. Reason: eta-misread |

I am also gonna be watching this thread!
I packed my bag and put all my flats and kissaluv contours in there. I'm taking my fitted kissaluvs, swaddleBs and Ckraphs and Twinsincloth coz i dunno how long I'll be in hospital, and my nb covers, i think i'll only take 2 coz if i'm in hospital and she wets/poos their linen bah who cares And i'm definitely taking liners with me, though I am taking flushable ones. I have to say though, I'm mainly taking the fitteds for showing off when people come to visit me... should i take my bubblebubs or leave that at home i wonder...

I had all good intentions of prefolds and ended up reaching for the Whizz Kidz NB every time

took his nappy off to look at his bits and he wee'd all over his going home outfit and wrap....(all without my permission ).I can't really remember how much they all pooped I have some old pink micro fleece liners here I used for Beth that I can cut up and use (doesn't really matter if they are wrecked as we don't use them anymore).I am now thinking that the NB fitteds might be the go...I must admit the the show off factor hadn't occurred to my pregnant brain but it would be nice to give cloth a show off - although none of bubs nappies are real show off ones iykwim.

another vote for newborn fitteds, with liner (i'm scared of mec poo all over my nice nappies!!).
with benji, he didn't wear covers for the first few days as the wees were quite light and i wanted to know when he was wet. but benji was a homebirth. hospy will likely prefer a cover?! i used a terry square as the first nappy cos i was paranoid about mec poo. bah! go a gorgeous cute fitted. the poo washed out the same as any other. your new babe may as well meet the world in style!!
