Default Lotus birth and nappies

Our baby will have a lotus birth and was wondering if anyone else has some experience with using nappies on their baby.

Any advice would be great.

haven't done a lotus birth but i don't see an issue with the nappies, maybe just use cheap flannel flats until the placenta falls off. flanny's would be soft and comfortably on the bub and umbilical cord anyway.

Asha has been breastfed for 2 yrs and 5 months. 2nd times a charm.

Any of the snap down newborn nappies should work fine too Kara.

I'd be really interested to know how you go with your lotus birth and everything associated with it. If you feel like sharing when you have your new little one I think it would be interesting to here your experience.

I'm looking into lotus birth as well. I hadn't thought about it relative to nappies. It wouldn't be any different to a normal cord stump would it?

I don't know. With both the boys they had a box of newborn disposables when they were first born, then went to terry flats after that. Didn't know about MCN until after Jude was born.

So I don't have any experience with a newborn with/without their u cord/stump.

Maybe using a prefold with snappy might be the go.

That's a great idea for the day time, I'll just put the heating on.

Night time is another matter, having the possibility of poo all over sheets and blankets is a little scary for me to consider yet.
