Yay- I have got as far as buying the bamboo Fleece (2ms from Snaps $36), washed and dried twice in heat, and cut out for 30cmx 30cm prefolds. Now should I be putting fluffy sides together & Smooth side out? Or fluffy side out? Will be overlocking around and then do you recommend sewing a line down at the thirds? This is pretty thick when folded up into the three, does this end up too chunky behind the newborns back when they sleep? Mummy already worrying
![]() With the scraps i'm going to make some breast pads. Do you suggest 2 layers of bamboo? Fluffy sides out? Should I back with fleece? How big do you suggest? Are darts to shape in necessary? Yes- I am enjoying myself. Thanks! |

just my opinion, but I don't think you will be needing 6 layers of bamboo fleece for a newborn!
do some that are just one layer (so 3 when folded) .... you can always use them as boosters later on.which side you put out is personal preference. I prefer to have the smooth side out, as it doesn't fluff up and shed everywhere, and it shows wear and tear less. I would sew them into thirds, it keeps them straight and smooth, otherwise they can bunch up in the wash and get all puffy and wrinkled and weird looking ![]() And 2 layers of bamboo for breast pads would be fine. I would be going smooth side out, as you don't want the fluff sticking

Thanks for the suggestions. Have gone with a single layer 30x30 cm and then I can always double up with 2 squaresif I'm not happy with absorbency or as suggeseted add a central strip.
Breast pads have gone together well too. Ta.
