Default how do those ruffles work?

Those little leg ruffles on kissaluvs and swaddlebees newborn fitted, how do they work? Are you meant to have them out, or tucked in?.

It says on the kissaluvs site to tuck in if they are on the small side or have skinny legs, so that would mean that you leave them out if they are chubby?
Wouldn't that cause leaks, or do you just have to make sure that *all* of the ruffles are contained by the cover?

(sorry- trying to figure this out without a having bubs to try them on yet)

I think both of those nappies are elasticised at the legs - yes?

If so the elastic will be enough to contain any (well most, LOL) poosplosions on a chubbier thighed bub. On a skinnier thighed bub, by tucking the ruffles in you 'fill' in that gaping and minimise leaks, kind of a second containment line

I've used both of them (in the smallest size) and always tucked had out. I didn't even know you could tuck them in

ETA: With a well fitting cover, I didnt ever have a leakage.

you can do either.
tucking them in means extra leak protection and easier to put the cover on covering them all.
its abit trial and error - sometimes tucking them in its tricky not to pinch bubs skin when doing it (i am abit unco lol) and it can leave marks on their skin.
i also found sometimes leaving them out left marks on skin
the marks never bothered bub and faded very quick.
have fun!

eta - i have only ever tucked in with a baby beehind bamboo (BBB) on a small bub)

I can only imagine- I was having a hard time tucking them in without baby's legs in the way . Hopefully it rolls in better when you have legs there.

I had never thought of tucking the frills in. A great idea for skinny legs. My bubs are born with very skinny legs and bulk up later, so I'll give that a try once we start using our BBB's.

If you leave the ruffled edges out, you might end up with wicking if bub has a BIG wee, so I recommend tucking the in.
