Beanie I think most cotton prefolds are Chinese Prefolds. Someone correct me if I'm wrong lol!

I used Birdseye Cotton Prefolds from birth with Makena. Still use them now at 20 months just differently. Must say they were among my favourites and would be the first thing I would reach for as they are so easy to do. I used Baby Beehinds covers over them. Now I am using Thirsties Covers over them as she is in a large.

Cheers,
Michelle

My local wahm sells 'Indian prefolds' LOL! They are the fluffy unbleached kind, not sure whether others call them that. And I don't know what makes them Indian or Chinese anyway!

we loved them - and still use the bbh ones as they are big enough
i keep a stash in the car in case i ever run out of nappies whilst out
not really into pockets this time so can't comment on stuffers

I said the exact same thing on another forum, and got flamed for saying it!!!

i'm so glad to hear someone else say it, it's NOT just me!!!

I used cotton prefolds with PUL covers on DD when she was newborn, up to about 3 months by which stage I'd built up more of a stash of fitteds.
I still use the prefolds now (she's 8 mths) if I'm behind on washing.
Cotton has the advantage over hemp and bamoo in reduced drying time and price. Bamboo and hemp have the advantage over cotton that they are more absorbant for the same bulk (or the same absorbancy for less bulk than cotton), and therefore more likely to be used as stuffers or boosters after baby outgrows the prefold.

mine got used as spew rags - but i did have alot of fitteds and a spewy babyim planning on using them when travelling as a quick dry hardy thing - its quite satisfying (and easy) being frugal actually trying them out at home over my fancy stuff

I used them quite a bit on Alastair and liked them ... infant size at first and then the premiums. I still use the premiums as pocket stuffers w'out problems now, but Alastair isn't a big wetter most of the time.
