Default Sherpa contours

Hi!

I have seem a couple of people mention Sherpa contours.. I have just bought a big batch of shrpa i found on special, and was wondering what to do with it..
I was leaning towards prefolds for our next newborn (currently in the planning stage )
But now i'm thinking contours would be easy to run up in large numbers, say a couple of dozen..

so what i'm after i guess is info from any one that has them..
Dimensions?
layers?
do you use fleece liners or should i top the contour with fleece or suedecloth?
not bother cause i would be changing so often?

Recs on bought ones to order a couple to look at?
Any thoughts?

Thanks!!

I have just ordered some Kissaluv Contours on spesh at the moment at Darlings Down Under. I havnt got them yet, so cant comment on them, other than I have heard that they are a great fit but not overly absorbant, and I think they are made from sherpa type fabric. I have made some of my own contoured/fitted nappies in a couple sizes and just wanted to compare. I have made mine with elasticized legs/back/front for small size to contain blowouts better, and sewn on boosters for extra absorbancy, but ofcourse thats more work and a little more complicated than a prefold or flat contour. With regard to the layers, I think thats a personal preference thing - you need to balance how quick do you want them to dry, how trim do you want them to fit, and how absorbant do you want them to be? and ofcourse what fabrics you use will effect that too - sherpa is quite absorbant for cotton, but its also more bulky. Bamboo is about the same bulk but much more absorbant, but then dries more slowly. Fleece and suedecloth are great for stay dryness and ease of cleaning, so you could top with that. Sherpa 'grabs' mess really well though so would be good for containment. I use at the moment a cotton velour because I like that its natural, looks good for a long time, and still has a little stay dry effect. Again what fabrics you use and top with are really a personal choice depending on what you want to achieve. Check out the kissaluvs at DDU, and the sugar peas at The Wee Wuns - maybe buy one of each to try them out and see what you like.
Good luck.

I love my kissaluvs because they are so stretchy but now Arabella is a few weeks old they really arent absorbant enough however it is nothing to pop a small booster in them

If you are making them yourself I would still use sherpa but have some bamboo for extra boosting in the middle they will make an awesome nappy then
