Hi everyone....
i am a cloth virgin.... about to put my 1 week old son into the bum genius pocket nappies. Do i need to use a liner? I read somewhere that someone suggested using chux.... are these needed for a newborn? and what purpose do they serve? (btw he is breast fed if that makes a difference) |

You don't need a liner in a pocket as the inner fabric is a stay dry fabric; I'm guessing it will be either suedecloth or microfleece. Either way, being a NB breastfeed bub, you can just chuck the nappy straight into the nappy bucket to dry pail until you wash it after it's been used.
Ah yes, I remember my older sister using chux, I think they were mainly for easy disposal of solids. Liners nowdays are usually used for the same (flushables), or to give a stay dry effect (microfleece) Personally, you're changing a newborn so often you don't really need to worry about liners.
