I've got a 2.5yr old and an 18 month old both still in nappies.
My 18 month old has approx 5-6 nappy changes during the 24 hr period also (that includes a night nappy)....but sometimes he may have his moments. I've got heaps, but as a rule of thumb, most people go by having 1 lot you are using, another in the wash and another lot drying....so yeah by the amount of times you are changing 18 woule be fine.

i hope so i guess i can buy more tho.. too like outta my fortnightly pays
so ill end up with more then 18 and prob not be as scared of running out... im sure 24 will be plenty for prefolds on a newborn and if im running low can always wash earlier.. Plus if i find that she uses more then that i can order more... so once i get too 18 i should be able too start ??

18 sounds all right to me
especially the warm weather is coming soon so they will dry more quickly for you.

you saying how many for your toddler, 18 is heaps! i go by about 5 for daytime, 5 for the line and 5 for the wash. And that is generous.
As for night time, any AIO that is fleece outer you can boost and use at night, or you can get a dedicated night nappy (see night nappy section) Often people use fitteds, such as a boosted baby beehind (BBH) and put a wool cover over the top, depending on if your toddler is a heavy wetter or not. I know for my big a boosted BBB (baby beehind bamboo) with a BBH wool cover on top- they are on special atm too.

can i encourage you just to wait and see how you go with your current nappies, you can just use prefolds and covers for your NB, and the pockets for your toddler, till you learn what you like and dont like. It is very daunting for some, and some people just like to stick to one sort rather than a whole heap of diff nappies.
GreenKids are good pockets, they can be boosted easily. Swaddlebees are also good SIZED pockets and are trimmer. Ittis are great AIO. The main diffwith AIO and pockets is where the boosting is. pockets its inside whereas AIO is on the outside.

Thanx carolyn. yeh green kids and swaddlebees are 2 of the pockets i wanna try aswell.. i actually brought a swaddlebees yesterday and will pay this morning and get it next week... i just didnt wanna start on cloth nappies until i had enough too go the 2 days without washing.. im such a procrastinator lol.. So wat i will do is finish the laundry (since i got behind early in my pregnancy but am nearly on top of) then ill buy the omo sensitive or planet arc detergent.. and give my BG ones a try
i have the little squirt so no probs there only thing i need too do is figure out the BG pockets and pre wash them and have them set up somewhere for easy access... least i can see how she take too the BG and if they are ok but i want something that may be bit bigger i can then buy some bigger pockets or AIOS aswell.. hmmm .. better get too the laundry hey lol,.
