i used the mini ones from itti bitti, you could also use the ones from Hemp sustainable products, or the green kids ones, just anything that is about 3 layers and is a booster.
boosted flats are grosely underestimated i think, as you dont really need to hang them out or fold them (till you use them of course)

I loved the boosters from sustainable hemp products. Or even folded cloth wipe ( face washer/flannel, whatever u call them) works well in the 1st few weeks
I had a heap of nb AIO/AI2 that we couldnt use because of poop leaks

I have used lots of aios on Arabella (obviously LOL!) and never had a poo leak and she is quite a skinny minny with chicken legs (4.7kgs at 3mths) I wonder if you arent pulling them on tight enough?
Aside from AIO's we have used sherpies and bambams, prefolds, kissaluvs, cute tooshies and bubbaj's, itti bittis, bettlebums a few odds and sods as well. Arabella is still in all her newborn nappies but I have given the blueberry's and kissaluvs to my SIL because they just arent absorbant enough anymore |

what i HAD in our nb stash
Covers: bambino mio imse vimse i felt safest with these, as they have leg gussets in the design two years later, now tots bots and bummis covers also have leg gussets, plus THirsties. whizz kidz fleece (i can't bear to part with this, it's so cute, lavendar with embroidered butterflies) if the birth hadn't gone so pearshaped, i would have started using wool alot earlier too. And i didn't know about flongies back then, they would be so easy on a newborn. Fitteds: bits for bots size 1 six flannelette fitteds bamboo prefolds, foldups the old baby beehinds prefolds that they no longer make 12 newborn size hemp boosters (from sustainable hemp products) 6 bamboo flats that i could never work out how to fold properly, made them into boosters later on Pockets and AIO's the only ones i got to work for us, were the ones made with Malden Mills fleece on the outer, e.g Cherub's Kiss AIO and Liam's Bum pockets. Started my love affair with the bulletproof Malden Mills fleece. i bet a Possum's Pouch KK AIO would have worked well too. oh well, i didn't know they existed back then. I tried these a bit later, and wish i had used them from the start, Cute Tooshies bamboo delights OSFA Whizz Kidz side snappers OSFM Bamboozles by tots bots Mandy Macs OSFM fitted pockets SO i guess our strategy was the Two Lines of Defense, boring prefold and jazzy cover, in the main. We were changing madam up to 20x a day, so it needed to be easy, quick, foolproof and quick drying. after one week of nonstop leaks, due to my tentativeness doing up the covers, we had no leaks (once someone showed me how to do it up tight enough). i was so concerned about doing them up TOO tight.
