COVERS... how many??

Every bub is different but we could only use the nb bummis for 2.5 weeks before they were too small . I'm glad I only had 1 nb cover
Sam was born 8lb7 and was 5kgs at 6 weeks if that's any help.

ok so no toot he newborn ones, for now i can always order some if baby boy comes out small. but DD was 8 lbs 4.5 oz but short.. so ive already got too x small pul thirsties (prob similar sizing too bummis since the small is the small in both brands..) and ill grab 2 more smalls.. i got som cheapo pvc newborns covers just incase i get stuck and need one.. but i have the fleece cover to, so that should be alright till i know if ill need more covers or not- plus will only be home first few weeks so bubs prob wont be wearing covers all the time.. depends.. hmm so how long did your bubba fit into the small bummis??

He's still in them now with a bit of room left for probably a few months.
I've got some handknitted soakers lying around - one newborn - really felted (DH washed in it the machine ) and 2 larger ones knitted by a family friend. The wool is really light ply in the larger ones - not good enough for much waterproofing but OK for day use when nappy changes are frequent. I don't need them - I already have 12 covers so PM me if you'd like them - I would love to send them to a new home

we used NB covers for only about 6 weeks, and smalls she is still in.

We have only 3 smalls and i dont use them all the time, as she is in woolies or AIO.

I have 5 xs Thirsties covers and 1 small Bummis Superbrite cover and they are still working for us. Baby was 9lb when she was born and the xs Thirsties are still fitting her fine. The Bummis is a little big on her but it does still work ok. I am using them with size 0 Kissaluvs which don't leak the NB BF poo much so I hardly evern need to wash my covers so if you expect to have a few poo blowouts though I would deffinatly get some more covers. I really like the extra leg gussets on the the Superbrites and the Thirsties as well.

xs thirsties and nb bummis, my daughter 8 pound 4 ounces 3812kilos.
The thirsties cover will last longer than the nb bummis as a more generous fit but fit well from day 1.
I have small baby beehind covers, small motherease rikki and small bummis and they are all still too big. The small bummis will fit very soon though. SHe is just over 2 weeks now.

I am going to get a couple more small thirsties covers as really like the gussets for containing the breastfed poos.

2 xsml thirsties
1 newborn stacinator fleece

1 bummis superbrite
4 bummis whisper prints
2 small thirsties

1 med disana wool..

6 size 000 pvc covers
3 00 pvc covers
1 cheapo fluffy cover (just back ups coz so cheap)

i think thats alll i have for now.. ill buy more of whatever i need when he is here and i know what i need... or see what working etc !!

Kizzzah, I have some photos of Sienna in the xs Thirsties covers that I can post for you as well. They are from when she was in the hospital so they are on a 9lb (4090gm) NB.
