the Tots Bots size 1 cover is very BIG. much bigger than I expected, and I have only started using it now - nearly 4 months old. it was even big over the Tots Bamboozles I have.

so it looks like you have 4 PUL covers that will fit well - even the small sized covers were ok here so I used them in conjunction with some xs thirsties.

If you think you're bub might be big then I'd go for some more small sized covers, otherwise definitely a couple more xs sized. We used XS until about 2.5 months old, when the rise became too short.

I also didn't use fleece or wool in the early weeks at all (actually did try fleece but kept getting compression leaks ).

oh thanx yes i noticed the totos bots i rather large.. well DD was 48 cm long and 8 lbs 4.5 oz... but she is only now 10kgs.. i was always measuring a few weeks ahead with her too so i knew she would be atleast 8lbs- however so far im measuring spot on and seem much smaller- but im using DDS size as a estimate.. she is still tiny now too.. speacially her bum so im thinking ill need a few more xsmls and smalls...

How big was your baby?? im sure id get abit of use outa xsml..
im gunna try the one fleece cover once i have bubba and see how i go- the wool is for when he few months old atleast

so 2 more of each size?? or should i have more?? im only gradually gunna get some more just trying too figure how many i should have.. to be on the safe side.

I would a couple more small covers, babies grow so quickly that you will get more work out of smalls rather than xs.

I only just put away my tots bots size 0 and I have a very chunky almost 6 month old. Thirsties covers are also generously sized and great for newborn poo explosions

Of what you have I would class them in the following sizes (see below). The xs thirsties are similar to the small bummies. I agree with other statements on the sz 1 totsbots it is more a sml-med size. I used the sz0 for a long time.

NB sized =4: 2 xtra small thirsties covers, 1 small bummis superbrite cover, 1 stacinator fleece newborn cover
Sml sized (use from a couple of months) =2: 1 small thirsties cover, 1 size 1 tots bots cover
Med =1: 1 disana wool cover med.

So I think you need atleast 6 covers for a newborn, especially given leaky newborn poo escaping prefolds. I would just get enough for newborn at the moment and then decide which brands you like to get for the next size up. My favourite covers are bubba j pul covers, the smalls fit my <3kg baby till she was more than 6 months old but they were our trimmest covers, at 2 yrs she is still in med. You can get them from:
PUL : ~*~Bubblebubs~*~, Where style and comfort meet modern convenience
Baby: Reusable cloth nappies, eco-disposables and baby care (Going green solutions)
I also like bummis superwhisper wraps (havent tried superbrites). I have thirsties to try this time and they look good. Not as keen on mother ease (didnt fit aswell as others) or babybeehinds (find the elastic around the legs wicks more).

Hope that helps, it is confusing when the sizes differ.
Good luck
Shara
