BBH covers are good too,.

the good thing about a boy is that you can boost on the outide in the front.

I love the BBB boosted in the front with a good wool cover.

for nights, i had my nb in small malden mills fleece pockets with a bamboo prefold as the insert.

so if you are able to sew your own nappies, i would make a small pocket, using malden mills windpro as the outer, and microfleece as the inner. Make a 30cm x 30cm double layer bamboo trifold to stuff your pocket with. If you have a little giraffe on your hands, then make it 30 x 40cm.

If you make him a fitted night nappy, don't make any layers more than two layers thick of bamboo, this will be better for drying time. All the advice you've been given about wool soakers, i totally agree, but that does involve handwashing and lanolising, i wasn't able to manage that myself until my child was four months old. The alternative is malden mills fleece, 300wt or windpro, easy to wash in the machine, dries very fast. PUL would be my last choice, it just doens't breathe as well.

The AIO's you are using for day, if you use them for night, well you will need to boost them, and the problem with that, is the leg seal. Sometimes if you add a trifold to an AIO, then you get gapes around the legs, and that means leaks. Whereas with a fitted nappy you can OUTER boost, and with a pocket, you can add layers to the pocket cavity.

Day nappies generally only have half the absorbent layers, a night nappy has.
