Default Is this lotion ok?

Hi all,
Just wondering, is the Gaia Skin Soothing Lotion ok to use on my nappies without a liner?

its think lotions that DONT sink into the skin thats the biggest problem - ones that coat the skin clog nappies the worst. from memory that one does coat the skin abit. you could use it with seperate fleece liners.
i only use lotions once there is a rash - never as a precaution - its amazing i hardly ever need themso thats what id suggest

with my dd1 6 years ago i coated her whole nappy area in zinc/castor creambut that was with a sposiecost a fortune

So do you think I'm being over-cautious? I don't use the lotion during the day, but I do at night because DD has a 'sposie on for 12 hours. I must admit I've never tried overnight without a little lotion!

TBH I have used quite a few things on Alastair's bum w' cloth and the nappies are ok. Stained, but still absorb. I just can't sell those ones, which is ok cos I can pass them on to Evie or he can just wear them out.

It's not constant but he is prone to getting small patches of rash in a few areas, and long periods of nappy-free time unfortunately isn't very practical for us because we spend so much time on buses! So we have used a few creams.

I've taken the Wardrobe Refashion Pledge! No new items of clothing for two months! Don't sell me any nappies

I've never bothered with any lotion on bubs bottom, unless he's getting a rash which I put cornflour on, and if that fails use zinc and castor cream as a barrier (last resort!)

I'm sure it's fine to use but I personally wouldn't bother! Just a plot by companies to make us buy more products IMO!

I always use fleece liner when I apply lotions or creams to Samara's bot bot.

well, you've all convinced me. I'll give it a try without the lotion when we make the switch! Thanks!

Sorry, another one - what about Simmon's paw paw ointment? That's not really a cream as such... or is it considered to be so?

I use paw paw ointment all of the time, but never as a precaution, just for sore bottoms! Dont use nappy creams at all. I always use a fleece liner though just in case. I get too scared to try, just in case something happens.
