Default Baby beehinds bamboo fold ups as prefolds?

I am wondering if the BB bamboo fold ups can be used as prefolds? As I read this somewhere.

My stash is currently 37 BBB fitted, 10 bamboo fold ups, 20 or so terry flats, 1 newborn AIO and 3 small AIO. Plus covers of course!

But I'm thinking, in the off chance that my baby is small, I may need to use prefolds or flats to get me through until the BBB fitteds fit.

I was a big 10 pounder when I was born so I'm not counting on having a small baby!

    What do you think?

Only a very small baby would be able to use them as prefolds- around 6 pounds I would guess.

Why don't you give them a go when your bub arrives if they are small. If you find they don't work, you can always get something else online. Most of the online stores have really quick deliveries and you have express post options

Agree with both stella and AliP totally. The BBB foldups are really little. They are great for boosters, but a baby would really have to be small to get much use out of one on its own. Also, you could only really do the pad fold, it wouldn't fit round the baby to do the angel fold with snappi.

I think I might have pad folded them in a cover a few times for around the house when I didn't need stacks of absorbency.

My DH was a big baby, I was averageish I think. My boys have been on the average to large side. A lot will depend on how late the baby is, like a week over the official due date can make a baby a fair bit bigger than a week under.

Are you getting close now? So exciting!

Thanks for your replies. I figured that they might not be big enough! I don't know why I thought they might be...

I'm sure I'll get by with my other nappies.

I am 26 weeks now! Yay! 13 weeks to go!!!

Oh don't worry, you really can't imagine these things till you have the naked baby right there on the change table to test it out!

darl you will probably find the BBB fitted DO fit from birth Ash was 11 lbs and they fit him and not even on the smallest setting.

With a good cover you can get away with them being a little bit big too, as long as the cover is a nice fit

Ashton was only a couple of weeks old here 5kg though, but I think if your expecting a bigger bub, probably upwards of around 4kg then you would be fine as it was never on the tightest snaps with him
