    Default Newbie need help...

    Hello,

I am new to the mcn world. So, advice is really badly needed.
Ok, here is the story. At the moment, I am using disposable and it is leaking in the night, every night I have to wake up at least once to change her, bad night would be 3x changing . My little girl wiggler and kick a lot when changing, when I change her I am struggling , so we practically kind of need like 2 person to do the changing . She got a very small waist and very chubby leg.

This is where I starting to look into mcn, I hear so many good thing about mcn but in the same time it is confusing . I bought couple of mcn from ebay but the problem is the elastic on the leg, that gives her a red mark after a 5 min wear .

I am thinking either AIO or AI2, pocket or sew in booster?- no idea but is are they different or the same? or is it better for me to get those bed wetter pants that can stuff some booster as well, in one hand its like a little nappy pants easy to change, on the other when comes to tt thing would be a bit easier??? So, confusng .

Pls share with me your thoughts and opinions on brands that you use and your review about it - pros and cons please..

    Cheers
    Kit

I would use a dedicated night nappy with a wool cover - I use sustainable hemp products sandman night nappy with a Disana wool cover (from Weewuns). The wool also absorbs some of the wee, and allows babies skin to breathe. Might also be worth looking into a side snap night nappy if baby has large thighs!

They are more expensive but are well worth the cost IMO. I also have a mandy mac purple night but I find that a bit low in the rise as I have a tummy sleeper.

yep - i would go a dedicated night nappy - i use wild child Dreamy nights mostly they have much more boosting than an average nappy

I also use use wool covers probably a 10 or 12 ply one

like monica said the price is worth a good nights sleep

Yes - I have to agree with having a dedicated night nappy. If you aren't keen on the idea of using fitteds with woolies I have heard that GensaForge have an awesome night nappy. I have also heard great things about Fluffy Bubs night nappies for heavy wetters too.

    Hi all,
    thanks for your reply.

    Monicat,
My little girl is a tummy sleeper too. Mind share with me your stash? I am thinking using cloth on day time too but night time would be my starting point. In day time, what do you use? fitted with cover or AIO or AI2? Do you personally prefer pocket? Is it true pocket, you really can stuff anything in there, won't the thing you put in go just one side? Sorry, I am really blur..
You mentioned " side snap night nappy ".. Are you refering those night pocket trainner? What is the difference?

    Hi Vicky,
Where can I find the "wild child Dreamy nights" any web site or link and how do you know that the cover have how many ply on them?

    Hi Kellie,
I am open to any options and suggestion but the problem is my little one won't stay still when changing and she kicks and wiggler a lot! tell me more about the fitted nappy and the wollies cover.

    Cheers

If you're having trouble changing your bub, then velcro might be the way to go.... providing she doesn't get addicted to opening it like my little girl
Here is the store for Whizz Kidz Nightz, a side snapper which will give you a good fit around the legs and waist. These are a fitted nappy, but great for heavy wetters like your gal. There are none in stock at the moment, but hopefully soon?
Here are Wild Child Nappies, again a fitted which needs a cover, very absorbant also! I guess the difference is they are front closing, so the fit will be a little different.
Here are NicNaps Night Nappies they offer an All in Two which closes with snaps or velcro. I love these for their ease of use.
Possum Pouches also offer an all in one Night Nappy - KK and woolies! Robyn is very helpful.

Wool soakers should be at least 10ply This time of year Longies are brilliant! Try minicuture or ozebaby for woolies, or if you know someone who knits... there are patterns in the knitting section!

Oh man.... I hope this helps, there are so many different ones out there! These are ones I've tried and liked

My little girl has the same build as yours and I can only use side snapping nappies on her, or the nappies cut off the circulation to her legs if I try to get them tight enough around her tiny waist. Not all side snap nappies are right for this build though, as I struggled to get the waist tight enough with some brands.

For daytimes I use Dragonfly Magik (www.dragonflymagik.com) which I love, but am about to explore other options as they are getting difficult to get, as they are now really popular. I've just ordered some Cute Tooshies AI2's (www.cutetushies.com.au) and some BabyHosen (Minicuteture). All of these nappies are AI2, meaning the nappy has effectively got a waterproof shell with no absorbancy, with the absorbant layers snapping into it, making it a quick dry option. I try to buy extra booster sets so that I can use the cover again while waiting for the boosters to dry, as the covers dry very quickly.

For night times, I use Whizz Kidz (OzeBaby.com.au) with a Disana wool cover (The WeeWuns)

I haven't tried many other brands, as I was lucky and fluked on a few good ones straight off. I did try Cherub's Kiss Auriels, and found that the waist doesn't do up tight enough for Emily's tiny waist. They gave a great fit around the legs though, and other people just love them, so it really does come down to fit.

Wild Child Night Nappies worked for a while, but at about the age of your daughter, they got to the point of being too tight around the legs if I tried to get a good fit around the waist but this is typical of front fastening nappies and a child of this build.

So basically, give front fastening nappies a miss altogether as you'd be lucky to find one that is going to fit your daughter's build. Instead, concentrate on side snaps. I'm not a fan of pocket nappies (just a personal preference), so haven't used any of those, but there are quite a few side snapping brands out there, that I'm sure other people will suggest.

Yep, Whizz Kidz are great for days too during the day I use them under longies or with a PUL cover like Bummis. At night wool again, either longies or a wool cover. As you have a wriggler, a pull on cover like the disana or soaker or longies could be the way to go... rather than something with snaps?
