    Default Overwhelmed!

After having some not so nice experiences with 'traditional' cloth nappies with my first child 10 years ago I decided to use disposable with my 2nd child 7 years age, now I up to my 3rd bub I am very interested in using the modern cloth nappies but am overwhelmed with the different types and brands. Can anyone offer some good advise as to which nappies are a good choice, and how many to buy ect. Money is a bit of an issue as I am on unpaid maternity leave and most likely will not be returning to work, so I want to make a wise decision in purchasing the right nappy. Any advise would be appreciated by all you experienced nappy using parents ..... please help!

check out www.buyforbaby.com.au for some second hand nappies that you could try. Every bub is different so not all nappies will suit every baby.

Also try having a look at as many threads as you can. This is what I did to find out as much as possible about all the different nappies.

Some of my favourites are babybeehinds bamboo one size fits all. Wild Child. Itti d'lish. CGR.

Greenkids are my favourite. They are a pocket design, OSFM, with on cover needed and trimmer fitting than some other brands, with generous sized inserts.

Thanks for your replies so far, I will check out all of your suggestions. There is just so much out there! He does sleep 12 hours at night so I am looking for a really reliable night nappy as well as I wouldn't want to see him wake up because he was wet. What about the different materials they come in, any feed back on that would be a big help too, bamboo, hemp ect.???
    Cheers

All I want to add is that many many of us began at the *blank look* thoroughly confused stage!

I started out quite a while ago, but in the meantime Oz Cloth Nappies: Information on Cloth Nappies in Australia and New Zealand: Support, Information, Chat, and Links has been created and maintained - and is a great place to start.

My basic workhorse nappies are baby beehinds bamboo, which have been great. They are reasonably priced and work well. For night nappies I use Sustainable Hemp products Sandman nappies - well worth the money.

it is hard when starting out and you'll find everyone one has different favourites
i tend to stick to well known nappies so i can re-sell later

there are loads of threads here which will help you choose brands/types etc also i would check out buy for baby as you cab get good bargins there while you are working out what you want

    good luck
